Choi Dong-hoon, director of the second part of the movie 'Alien + Humans', shared his thoughts on the poor box office performance of the first part.
On the 3rd, a press conference for the second part of the movie 'Alien + Humans' was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Choi Dong-hoon, actors Ryu Jun-yeol, Kim Tae-ri, Kim Woo-bin, Lee Ha-nui, Yeom Jeong-ah, Jo Woo-jin, and Kim Eui-seong attended the event.
On this day, Director Choi said about the poor box office performance of Part 1, "It was very difficult after Part 1 ended. I asked a lot of people, 'Why did it become like this?' When I asked them, they said, ‘It’s all your fault.’ Half of them were like this. Then, the other half said, ‘Was it too unconventional?’ “There was a saying like this,” he said. “I keep thinking and thinking about it, but it was very difficult to find an answer.”
He continued, “So all I had left was Part 2, and I thought, ‘I have to work hard to make it.’ There was nothing else I could do.”
Director Kim continued, "So, I made several edits for Part 2," and "Part 1 had a strong fantasy tendency. And it itself had a lot of emotional content. I thought it would be an action drama based on emotion, and we talked about it a lot. “I told you about it. It was said that the emotions of meeting someone and breaking up were at the bottom, but in Part 2, we worked to make those feelings more visible,” he said about the points to watch for Part 2.
'Alien + Human' Part 2 is a film that tells the story of humans and gurus trying to save everyone by returning to the future while hidden secrets are revealed in the fierce battle for the new sword. Opening on the 10th.
