On the 29th, TV Chosun's new weekend mini-series 'My Happy End' released a still of Son Ho-jun, who transformed into Heo Soon-young, the husband of Seo Jae-won (played by Jang Na-ra), a freelance designer and professor of industrial design. 'My Happy End' is a human psychological thriller drama in which a woman who only pursues success faces a shocking truth due to the betrayal of people she trusted. The topic of what true happiness is is raised through a mystery thriller that begins with the misfortune of those around you sacrificed for someone else's happiness.
Heo Soon-young, played by Son Ho-jun, is a compassionate, easy-going, and gentle character who rarely gets angry. Heo Soon-young lives as a devoted husband to Seo Jae-won and a caring father to his daughter Heo Ah-rin (played by Choi So-yul), and despite having to give up opportunities that came his way, he never regrets a life of putting family first. I never do that.
In particular, Son Ho-jun has built a solid acting spectrum regardless of genre, from dramas to movies. He has been taking on endless challenges while showing off his various charms in entertainment. Attention is focused on what kind of acting transformation Son Ho-jun, who has been active in all fields and fields with his warm appearance and unique, trustworthy realistic acting, will achieve through the role of Heo Soon-yeong in 'My Happy End'.
The first scene in which Son Ho-jun played the role of Heo Soon-young, a person with a compassionate and kind personality, was captured. In the released photo, Heo Soon-young is seen celebrating the birthday of his father-in-law Seo Chang-seok (played by Kim Hong-pa) on behalf of his busy wife Seo Jae-won. Heo Soon-young proves his status as a 'No. 1 husband and No. 1 father' by cooking seaweed soup himself, taking good care of his daughter Arin, and making a video call to reassure his wife Seo Jae-won. It stimulates curiosity about what kind of story is hidden in the ordinary Soonyoung, who seems infinitely calm and happy.
Son Ho-jun said, "First of all, when I read the script, I enjoyed it so much. The difficult emotional battles of each character were breathtaking and full of tension, so I was very captivated the whole time I was reading it." He added, "I was even more attracted to the role when I heard that actress Jang Na-ra would be the one to work with Soonyoung. Since I had experience working with Soonyoung once, I had good memories of that time, so I thought I could do a good job."
Regarding the role of Heo Soon-young, Son Ho-jun honestly confessed, "The charm of Heo Soon-young is that she is so ordinary. Wouldn't she be a character that everyone can feel and sympathize with? I liked it because it wasn't special." He also said, "I tried not to stand out, and I wore glasses because I wanted to look a little softer. I tried not to do anything to look normal."
In addition, Son Ho-jun said, "I hope you can see Heo Soon-young as she is. I think you will be able to sympathize with the character of Heo Soon-young." He added, "If you look at 'My Happy End' from each person's perspective, the same scene can be interpreted differently. “It’s a drama you can enjoy, so I recommend watching it multiple times,” he said.
The production team of 'My Happy End' said, "Son Ho-jun is enhancing the perfection of the play with his inner acting that brings out the texture without missing even the delicate emotional changes. We look forward to Son Ho-jun who will give a passionate performance full of unique empathy as Heo Soon-yeong, a devoted husband and caring father. “Please give it to me,” he said.
