BTS's Jungkook, who is about to enlist in the military in December, expressed his sincerity in a letter to his fans.
On the 22nd, Jungkook posted a long article on Weverse, a global fan community platform. He said, "My dear ARMY. I will be starting a new journey in December. I will be leaving your side for a while to serve in the military."
He continued, “Although my heart is heavy, my heart is warm as I recall precious memories with ARMY. Every moment I spent with ARMY was the brightest time of my life. ARMY’s laughter, support, and love have led me this far. “I am so thankful for supporting my dream and silently walking with me,” he said.
Jungkook said, "1 year and 6 months is a long time. I am cautious about asking everyone to wait while I am serving in the military. So, I cannot say anything selfish. After returning from military service, I will grow even more in the same position I have always been in and stand on stage. “I promise you that,” he said.
He also said, "I hope that ARMY will always have laughter and happiness in their lives. I hope that ARMY's daily life will be filled with health and beauty. I will miss you deeply in my heart as I wait for the day when we can meet again and share new stories. Please do not get sick and stay healthy." .
On the same day, the agency Big Hit Music announced, "We would like to inform you that RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have begun the process to fulfill their military service obligations. They are preparing to fulfill their military service obligations." Jungkook will enlist in December.
