Broadcaster Yoo Jae-seok, comedian Shin Bong-seon, and Lovelyz member Lee Mi-joo visited viewers with a heartwarming year-end special.
In MBC's 'What Do You Do When You Play?' corner aired on the 31st, 'Play What Restoration Center', a tape containing the client's father's voice was restored.
The client's father suddenly died while on duty as a police officer. He said the tape was the only thing that contained his father's voice. However, the client stated that he could not hear his voice because the tape was badly damaged.
In addition, the client's younger brother said that he separated from his father when he was 2 years old, and said, "My memory is of him wearing a police uniform in a photo. It remains vague. That's why that tape was precious."
Shin Bong-seon said, "I left it to a professional company, but they said it was more damaged than expected. A lot of time had passed, and there was transparent tape attached, as if my mother had tried to fix it, so even the experts were very surprised."
The audio was later released. The sound of a guitar playing and the sound of a baby crying filled the room. The client's mother shed tears, and Lee Mi-ju and Shin Bong-seon also had red eyes.
Yoo Jae-seok said, “I think Geumseul was good enough for the two of them to sing.” The client's mother commented, "It's a new feeling as 30 years have passed. As I keep listening to it, the memories pass by, thinking, 'That voice, it was that time.'"
The production team also prepared a surprise gift for the client's family. After analyzing the voice of his deceased father, he created the message, 'Thank you for growing up well.'
Yoo Jae-seok added, “We also had a hard time holding back our tears.” In addition, a high-definition portrait of the client's father was restored and presented as a gift.
