Actress Lim Ji-yeon explained the time she worked with her senior Song Hye-kyo on the drama 'The Glory'.
Recently, on Esquire Korea magazine's official YouTube channel, 'Lim Ji-yeon lifted 80kg of deadlift? | A video titled 'Im Ji-yeon, IMJIYEON, Lim Ji-yeon interview' was posted.
In the released video, Lim Ji-yeon took the time to answer simple questions. He appeared in the Netflix series ‘The Glory’, which was released on the 30th of last month.
In relation to this, he introduced the work as "a drama in which a character named Dong-eun (Song Hye-kyo), who was traumatized by school violence as a child, visits the perpetrators who bullied her and seeks revenge."
Lim Ji-yeon explained her character, saying, "I play the role of Park Yeon-jin, a woman who led the school violence when I was young and has nothing to envy in the world. Then, I took on the role of Park Yeon-jin, whose bad things she did in the past come back like a boomerang."
Regarding the point to watch for 'The Glory', he said, "I think it will be a genre with a new feel to the point where I can't even tell what genre it is. I hope many people will enjoy it as it is my first attempt at playing a villain that I have always wanted to play."
He also said, “There is a scene where the main character, Dong-eun, visits the perpetrators’ meeting for the first time and exchanges ear slaps. It is a very important scene.” He added, “That scene was an actual exchange of slaps. I exchanged a slap on the cheek with senior Song Hye-kyo, and the two of them exchanged slaps on the cheek.” “Everyone’s face was swollen like this,” he said about the filming episode.
Lim Ji-yeon recalled, "The director asked me to hit him for real just once, so we exchanged slaps with the intention of not making a negation. I can't forget that scene."
