‘Casino’ Lee Dong-hwi, acting like ‘french fries’ in a hamburger set

There are actors who are as essential to the work as the main characters with their unique performances. Lee Dong-hwi is also one of them. Lee Dong-hwi once again showed off his mastery of sly acting through Disney+'s 'Casino'.

'Casino' is a powerful story about Cha Moo-sik (Choi Min-sik), a man who became a casino legend in the Philippines with no money and no background, but becomes embroiled in a murder case and begins to make the final bet that puts his life on the edge. Lee Dong-hwi played the role of Yang Jeong-pal, Cha Mu-sik's right-hand man who assists and looks after him.

Lee Dong-hwi played a role in evoking the atmosphere of ‘Casino’ with his sly acting. Lee Dong-hwi's unique witty acting is shown in the scene where he sings happily in the car with Cha Moo-sik, or the scene where he falls in love with Kim So-jung (Son Eun-seo), who works at the hotel reception, at first sight and says, "I think I've found the woman who gave birth to my child." Doubled the fun. In addition, the process of gradually transforming into a love-hate relationship with Cha Mu-sik is another point to watch in the work.

Lee Dong-hwi, who attended the 'Casino' press conference at the 'Disney Content Showcase 2022' held in Singapore last month, compared this work to a 'hamburger set'. When Heo Seong-tae, who was also present, said, "Please watch 'Casino' to see senior Choi Min-sik's great acting," Lee Dong-hwi added, "Many people are waiting for the best star, 'Mr. Goo' Son Seok-gu." He then made everyone laugh with his witty remark, saying, “Like hamburgers, French fries, and cola, I also come in a set.”

Lee Dong-hwi received much love for his role as Dong-ryong in the 'Reply 1988' series. Another interesting point is that Ryu Jun-yeol, the main character of this drama, was nicknamed ‘Jung-pal’ in the play. He impressed the public with his witty and talented character and his unique visuals.

In 'Extreme Job', he brought laughter to over 10 million viewers with his role as narcotics detective Yeong-ho. Youngho is a character who constantly reminds his colleagues in the drug squad of the reality, forgetting their duties as a detective and focusing on selling chicken. Even when his colleagues were frying chicken, he was unable to leave the car and stayed in hiding for 24 hours, giving off a salty smell. The sight of people rejoicing in the car when the chicken restaurant they were opening undercover to eliminate drug criminals received positive reviews from customers was also a point of laughter. Although he is clumsy as a detective, he also shows off his charm with his tenacity in pursuing the criminal until the end.

In 'Hamburger Set', Lee Dong-hwi shows off his acting that stimulates the appetite like French fries and is tangy like Cola. His acting reminds us that French fries and cola, not hamburgers, are essential items in the hamburger set.
