Kim Seo-hyung revealed that he is a ‘homebody.’
On the 17th, I met actor Kim Seo-hyung, who appeared in Watcha's 'It Might Be A Little Spicy Today', at a cafe in Sinsa-dong, Seoul. Kim Seo-hyung plays Da-jeong, the head of a publishing company who is diagnosed with terminal cancer and prepares for the end of her life. Chang-wook, played by Han Seok-gyu, is a character who has never cooked food in his life, but develops healthy recipes using good ingredients for his sick wife.
Kim Seo-hyung said, "There are some works that are painful to work on. It was so difficult that when I finished it, I wanted to lie down and not think about anything, saying, 'There's no need for it all.' I thought I had to move on quickly for the next work. “I think there was that connection,” he said, revealing that he was immersed in the character. He then confessed, "At that time, my body was overloaded. While filming this, I thought about what I had forgotten."
Kim Seo-hyung said, "As great as my previous work was, I can't decide on my next work quickly. I think I've exhausted everything here, but I feel like I need some time to move on right away." When asked about how to manage one's mental state, "Sometimes when I take a break from work, I think, 'Am I being too picky?' "I want to. Sometimes I don't think about anything. For me, the blanket is the best. When I leave the house, I think about the soft sound of the blanket and when I hear that sound when I leave and come back, it's comfortable," he said.
Kim Seo-hyung said, "There are times when I feel lonely because I am alone, but there are also times when I feel comfortable being alone. I don't have a specific way to manage my mental state. I exercise. I don't seem to think about anything when I exercise. I exercise to stay healthy, not to maintain my body. I listen to music all the time. “There is no public audience for the music I listen to, but if I’m hooked, I listen to that all the time,” he said. Kim Seo-hyung added, "It's my tendency to exhaust myself and act until I die. I push to the end and do it until I let go."
‘It Might Be a Little Spicy Today’ is a human drama that tells the story of a husband and his family who try to make clumsy but hearty food for their wife, who has become precious about every meal after being diagnosed with colon cancer. This work is based on the essay of the same name by author Chang-rae Kang. There are times when it goes up. “I put a lot of myself into Da-jeong,” he confessed.
