The funeral of the late actress Yoon Jeong-hee (real name Son Mi-ja) will be held today.

According to the film industry, the funeral of the late Yoon Jeong-hee will be held at a cathedral near Paris, France on the 30th (local time). The funeral will be held privately with only relatives and close friends in attendance. It is reported that the remains of the deceased will be cremated and placed in a cemetery near Paris.

In addition, a memorial mass to commemorate Yoon Jeong-hee will be held at Yeouido Cathedral in Seoul for three days starting on the 30th. It is said that Yeouido Cathedral is the church that the deceased attended during his lifetime.

Jeong-Hee Yoon passed away in Paris, France on the 19th (local time) at the age of 79. Jeong-hee Yoon, who had been suffering from Alzheimer's since 2010, is said to have lost her husband and daughter as her condition worsened several years ago. The deceased lived in Paris with her husband, pianist Baek Geon-woo (77), and daughter Baek Jin-hee.

Previously, in 2019, Paik Geon-woo officially announced the news of Yoon Jeong-hee's struggle with Alzheimer's through an interview. However, conflicts within the family were revealed later, as Yoon Jeong-hee's brothers filed a lawsuit against Baek Geon-woo and his daughter Jin-hee to object to their guardianship.

Meanwhile, the deceased enjoyed great popularity as part of the 'first generation actress troika' along with actors Moon Hee and Nam Jeong-im. His love for movies was so deep that he appeared in about 300 movies. It has won several awards including the Grand Bell Award, Blue Dragon Film Award, and Baeksang Arts Awards.

Director Lee Chang-dong, who returned 16 years after the film 'Manmubang' (1994), returned to the screen with the film 'Poetry' (2010), which effectively became his last film. She also won the Grand Bell Award for Best Actress for this film.

The deceased was also a born filmmaker with deep knowledge of film, serving as a judge for award ceremonies such as the Montreal Film Festival (1995), the 12th Mumbai Film Festival (2010), and the 17th Dinard Film Festival (2006).
