Kim Si-eun "I can't believe I'm working with Bae Doo-na in my first feature film at Cannes!"

Actress Kim Si-eun expressed her feelings about playing So-hee in the movie ‘Next So-hee’.

On the afternoon of the 31st, a press screening for the movie 'Next Sohee' (directed by Jeong Ju-ri) was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Actors Bae Doo-na, Kim Si-eun, and director Jeong Ju-ri attended the press conference held after the preview.

'Next Sohee' is an intense story about an incident that Sohee (played by Si-eun Kim), a confident 18-year-old high school student, experiences while going on field training, and Eugene (played by Doo-na Bae), a detective who investigates it, encounters it in the same space but at a different time. Last year, it was the first Korean film to be selected as the closing film of the Critics Week at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival.

In the play, Kim Si-eun played Kim So-hee. Kim So-hee is an ordinary high school student who is brave and sharp enough to say what she wants to say, but can also be bright and clumsy at times.

On this day, Kim Si-eun said, "I read the scenario and thought it would be great for me to do such a good work. The scenario was so good that I wondered if I could dare to do it. I quickly responded to the director and auditioned. When we first met, we had a few conversations and I said, “I became Sohee. It didn’t really feel like it.”

He added, "I didn't say any lines in front of the director at that time. It was just a normal conversation. I was working with director Jeong Joo-ri, and I thought, 'I can't believe I'm doing this for the first time in a project where senior Bae Doo-na can also work together.'"

Kim Si-eun said, "At that time, I felt a sense of responsibility. I also felt a lot of pressure. I am hearing good news that my first feature film is receiving a lot of positive reviews overseas, so I feel fortunate. I have to become an actor who can show a better side of myself in the future. “I want to,” he said.

Meanwhile, 'Next Sohee' will be released on February 8th.
