Rapper Nafla was embroiled in suspicions of ‘preferential military service’. Nafla is currently working as a social worker. Circumstances of ‘negligence on duty’ were detected during the period of military service. Previously, rapper Ravi, the head of the agency, was also suspected of ‘military service corruption’. Due to repeated suspicions of military service corruption, the possibility of re-service has even been raised.
Napla was recently investigated by the prosecution over suspicions of ‘preferential military service’. The 5th Criminal Division of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office conducted a summons and investigation on the grounds of 'neglect of duty' by Nafla, who performs social service at the Seocho-gu Office.
In relation to this, his agency Groovlin informed Ten Asia, "It is true that he was investigated once for neglect of duty," and "It was a different investigation than Ravi, who is suspected of military service corruption."
It was discovered that Napla did not go to work even though he was a social worker, or postponed his service for a total of 7 times last year, for about 18 months, starting in 2021, during his service period.
The agency's president, Ravi, also caused controversy over the 'military service issue'. The controversy over Ravi's 'military service corruption' came out from the mouth of broker A last month. Mr. A revealed that Ravi's 'reduction of military service obligation' was his achievement. In fact, Ravi was designated as a social worker for 'health reasons'.
Following Ravi, Nafla is already in the spotlight for the second time due to the 'military service issue'. The agency explained that the controversy between the two people was an investigation into a different case, but the public's view of this was not positive.
Due to the ongoing controversy, the ‘level of punishment’ for these people is also attracting attention. In Ravi's case, if he is found guilty, he can be imprisoned for at least 1 year and up to 5 years for Article 86 of the Military Service Act, 'Use deception for the purpose of evading or receiving a reduction in military service obligations.'
There is also the possibility of re-service. This is because even if you complete supplementary duty, you must serve again unless you are sentenced to more than 1 year and 6 months in prison.
An official from the Military Manpower Administration said, "If military service preference or corruption is found to be true, punishment will be imposed according to the review of each military service." He added, "You must undergo a re-medical examination, and you can serve again."
On the other hand, the possibility of Nafla returning to service is slim. The prosecution believes that there was no illegal process in the process of Nafla being judged as a supplementary soldier (level 4 in physical examination). In case of simple ‘negligence on duty’, an employee will be punished by ‘extension of service’.
Both Ravi and Nafla are unable to provide a clear explanation for the ‘military service corruption’. This is why suspicion is growing. Ravi and Nafla closed their mouths and hid themselves. If they have committed a crime, paying the price is the only option left to them.
