Actors Kim Da-mi, Jeon So-ni, and Byun Woo-seok are ready to deliver beautiful excitement through the movie 'Soul Mate'.

On the morning of the 3rd, a production briefing session for the movie 'Soul Mate' (directed by Min Yong-geun) was held at the Lotte Cinema Konkuk University entrance in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Actors Kim Da-mi, Jeon So-ni, Byeon Woo-seok, and director Min Yong-geun attended the event.

'Soulmate' is the story of two friends, Miso (played by Kim Da-mi), Ha-eun (played by Jeon So-ni), and Jin-woo (played by Byeon Woo-seok), who recognized each other from their first meeting and shared everything together, including joy, sadness, excitement, and longing. A remake of the Chinese movie ‘Hello, My Soulmate’.

Director Min Yong-geun, who made an impressive debut with the movie 'Hyehwa, Dong', returns with 'Soulmate' 10 years after 'A Certain Perspective - Ice River'. It sheds light on not only friendship but also individual life, and by bringing in the subject matter of painting, it not only raises emotions more dramatically, but also differentiates itself from the original work to stimulate interest.

On this day, director Min Yong-geun said, "The original work's framework and character framework were classic. I thought it was a story structure and characters that would remain over time," he said. "There are parts where the emotional texture of the movie is different. The lyrical part was also strengthened. The material called painting is used as an important motif. “In some ways, those aspects are the biggest differences from the original.”

In the play, Kim Da-mi plays the role of Miso. Kim Da-mi introduced Miso as "a free-spirited character, but with pain. She is a cute character who lives steadfastly and well."

He said, "It was a movie we all liked after watching the original. The scenario was also fun and good. Since the story is not completely the same, rather than borrowing or borrowing certain characters from the original, the three of us used what we had and made it within the setting of Jeju Island. "There were parts where I tried to express different emotions and in a Korean way. Actually, I think I had fun doing it. I did it without worrying about the original," he explained.

Jeon So-ni plays Ha-eun. He said about Ha-eun, "I like taking pictures, and I have a lot of concerns and thoughts about how I view the subject and how I view the world. She is the type of person who looks at things for a long time and thinks about them." Regarding the similarities between her and Ha-eun, she laughed and said, "Smile, Ha-eun is a mix of actress Dami and me. Some things are similar, but some things are very different."

Byeon Woo-seok played the role of Jin-woo, who has a pure charm without lies. For Byun Woo-seok, ‘Soulmate’ is also his screen debut. Byeon Woo-seok expressed his excitement, saying, “This is definitely a special, exciting and anticipated moment for the first time.” He also said about Jinwoo, "He is a friend who pursues a stable life and runs toward his dreams."

Director Min Yong-geun talked about the reason why he chose Jeju as the filming location for 'Soulmate'. He said, "I chose Jeju because of the physical distance. If you go a little deeper, you will see that Miso, Ha-eun, and Jin-woo spend the time of their youth in Jeju, which is commonly referred to as the time of their youth. I think it resembles Jeju."

In addition, director Min Yong-geun said, "The relationship between us is something to say in real life. There are similar overlaps between the relationship in the movie and the relationship in real life. (Byun Woo-seok) feels more like the youngest brother rather than the youngest brother," and "Rather, Dami's age is similar." "She is younger. The two (Jeon So-ni, Byeon Woo-seok) are like friends, and like this (Kim Da-mi, Byeon Woo-seok) there is an age difference, but if there are three, Dami is like the eldest. When the youngest is cute, it feels like the eldest is telling her not to be too fussy." He said this and made people laugh.

Byun Woo-seok is the oldest, but he was the youngest on set. He expressed satisfaction, saying, “We had fun playing with each other, but when we made mistakes, we talked like brothers and had fun filming together.” Byun Woo-seok said that he asked many questions from his ‘screen seniors’ Kim Da-mi and Jeon So-ni, causing laughter from Kim Da-mi and Jeon So-ni.

In ‘Soul Mate’, the chemistry between Kim Da-mi and Jeon So-ni will shine. Kim Dami said about her co-star Jeon Sonye, "I knew Sonny. I wanted to meet her, but I didn't know we would meet each other. I thought we could become this close, but we got along well. We had a lot of deep conversations with each other. She treated me with sincerity, so we were together. “I was so happy to film this movie,” he said, expressing his affection.

Lastly, Da-mi Kim said, "'Soulmate' is a movie that looks different depending on the character's perspective. I hope that the scenery of Jeju Island will become a movie that evokes the emotions of old youth." Jeon So-ni said, "I started filming with the thought that it would be a movie that I can watch even after 10 years. It is a movie that I especially cherish a lot."

Meanwhile, 'Soulmate' will be released on March 15th.
