Singer Kim Ho-joong handed down the title of winner for his first appearance in ‘Immortal Songs’ to his junior Espero.
Episode 593 of KBS2's 'Immortal Songs', which aired on the 11th, featured part 2 of the '2023 Oh My Star' special. On this day, five teams, including Hyung-ju Yun & Glass Box, Sang-il Nam & Seung-tae Shin, Jin-young Hong & Gwang-seon Park, Young-im Kim & Ji-eun Yang, and Ho-jung Kim & Espero, took the stage in the second part and gave their all.
Hyungju Yoon & Glass Box were the first to take the stage and performed Twinfolio's 'Wedding Cake' and Hyungju Yoon's 'Our Story'. Those who formed the 2023 Cesibong presented a breezy performance with beautiful chords and harmony.
Hyeongju Yoon comfortably embraced the high notes and vocals of the glass box and provided comfortable healing. Kim Young-im put her hands together and said, “I love it. The harmony was really beautiful and sweet.” Park Wan-gyu expressed his respect, saying, “They are the foundation of modern pop music.” Kim Ho-jung said, "I think the beauty of time cannot be imitated. It's a good New Year's gift."
Nam Sang-il & Shin Seung-tae took the stage for the second time with Na Hoon-ah's 'Give Back My Youth'. The two people, who opened in the form of a yard play, brought laughter to the audience and interacted with the audience. Nam Sang-il & Shin Seung-tae showed off their great chemistry by performing an exciting and delicious performance. At the end of the stage, Nam Sang-il added excitement with the gong and Shin Seung-tae played the janggu.
Kim Young-im smiled and said, “Our Korean traditional music scene has good prospects because we have such young people.” In response to Muzie's comment that "the yard play is fun," Yoo Se-yoon said, "Can the skit be that long?" and made people laugh by being greedy about the next stage composition. Hyungju Yoon & Glass Box received more votes from the masterpiece judges.
Hong Jin-young & Park Gwang-seon went on stage with Kim Gun-mo's 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'. Hong Jin-young's unique excitement and Park Gwang-seon's performance combined to heat up the stage. Dancers wearing special costumes in the middle of the stage captured all attention. Both the audience and the performers in the talk waiting room stood up, danced and clapped happily, enjoying the stage. In particular, Yoo Se-yoon and Park Wan-gyu, who were having a war of nerves, also danced together. Yoo Se-yoon joked, “In the end, music brought us together.” Hyungjoo Yoon & Glass Box defeated Jinyoung Hong & Gwangseon Park to win 2nd place.
On the fourth stage, Kim Young-im & Yang Ji-eun sang ‘Jeongseon Arirang’ and Kim Soo-cheol’s ‘Starry’. The audience could not take their eyes off Kim Young-im's voice, which dominated the stage from the first verse. Yang Ji-eun, who took over the baton, also poured out her sorrowful emotions, creating a feast of earnest sounds. Sunye, who shed tears throughout, said, "The expressions were sincere and sincere. Their story touched me deeply," and Jo Kwon also added, "I think I cried because the sound of our country is beautiful."
Yunseong was moved and said, “I want to make such deep sounds when I become a teacher.” Kim Young-im & Yang Ji-eun stopped the dominance of Yun Hyeong-ju & Glass Box and won 1 game. On the fifth stage of the finale, Kim Ho-jung & Espero met the audience with Lee Seung-cheol's 'Western Sky'. The energetic voices of Espero members, led by the heavy Kim Ho-jung, followed.
Kim Ho-jung took center stage, and Espero showed off his unusual skills for a rookie, drawing attention. The magnificent harmony shook the stage. Regarding this stage, Lee Se-jun of Glass Box said, "The musical colors were well melted. Because Kim Ho-joong was there, Espero came alive and sang with excitement," and Hong Jin-young said, "I wanted to put cheese bread in my mouth," making everyone laugh.
The final winners were Kim Ho-jung & Espero. They received more selections than Kim Young-im and Yang Ji-eun, who were strong candidates for the championship, and took home the trophy. Following Kim Ho-jung, Espero also had the honor of winning a trophy for his first appearance on 'Immortal Songs'.
