Professor Namyoung Baek elected as new president of the Korean Society of Theater Education
Professor Baek Nam-young of the Department of Theater at Chung-Ang University was elected as the new president of the 14th Korean Theater Education Society and the 16th Korean University Theater Department Professors' Council.

Professor Nam-Young Paik has been working in the Department of Theater at Chung-Ang University since 2008 after studying at the Department of Theater and Film at Chung-Ang University and the Polbank University of the Arts in Germany. In addition, in 2009, he founded <Go There>, a creative group that uses 'masks' as the main object of expression, and continues to be active as an actor and director.

Since its founding in 1997, the Korean Society of Theater Education has played a central role in the development of theater education through various academic conferences and publication of academic journals. In addition, the Korea University Theater Department Professors' Council hosts the <Young Theater Festival> centered on the Daehakro Theater in Seoul every year, playing a leading role in helping young theater students realize their dreams and passion. <Young Theater Festival> produced outstanding stars such as Ha Jung-woo and Kang Han-na, both graduates of Chung-Ang University, as well as Hyun Bin, Byun Yo-han, Jeon Yeo-bin, Joo Hyun-young, Seo Kang-jun and Ong Seong-wu.

Currently, the Korean Society for Theater Education has about 500 members, and the Korean University Theater Department Professors' Association has 91 affiliated schools. Professor Namyoung Paik has been appointed as the new president of the two organizations and is expected to lead the development of the Korean theater industry.
