Actor Park Hae-soo, who was called the 'Netflix civil servant', returns to the stage. He returned to the stage after five years and said that although it started out as a nightmare, he was experiencing a new world.

Park Hae-soo will appear in the play 'Faust', which opens at the LG Arts Center Seoul on March 31. 'Faust' is a reinterpretation of the play completed over 60 years by German great writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. It will provide direction and inspiration for an imperfect life through Faust's imperfect actions and choices.

Park Hae-soo, who has appeared in a series of Netflix works such as 'Time to Hunt', 'Yacha', 'Squid Game', 'Suriname', and 'House of Paper: Joint Economic Zone', and is called the 'Netflix Civil Servant'. Why did he return to the stage five years after ‘Nassim’, which was performed as part of the 2018 play ‘Doosan Humanities Theater 2018 Altruist’?

Park Hae-soo said, "Five years have passed (since I stood on stage). I was desperately thinking about the stage. At that time, I met my role through my work in the media. The reason why I can now stand on the performance stage again. “I wondered for myself what it would be. I feel like ‘Faust’ came to me. I feel like the work I needed came to me,” he said.

In the play, Park Hae-soo plays Mephisto. Mephisto is a character who brings pleasure to Faust and will do anything to bring about his destruction and corruption.

Park Hae-soo said he wanted to stand on stage with director Yang Jeong-woong and Yoo In-chon. He confessed, "I am both grateful and scared because I am Mephist in Goethe's 'Faust'. I knew that the role was not easy, so I started with a difficult nightmare from the beginning." He continued, “I am now living in a pleasant nightmare and a new world. I am having a wonderful and mysterious experience, and I am doing my best every day.”

Park Hae-soo boasts a special relationship with Yoo In-chon. This is because he previously received the ‘Yoo In-chon Rookie Actor Award’. He said, "I told him that I received the award given by teacher Yoo In-chon, and it was an honor for him to remember me. I dare say that (Yoo In-chon) is showing a wonderful performance about the Korean language and language that is certain in our country. I grew up watching that high-class acting." “During our first reading, I felt like I was in an orchestra. That gave me goosebumps. I personally recorded it for study,” he said, making people laugh.

Park Hae-soo's next film is also the Netflix movie 'The Great Flood' (working title).
