Director Makoto Shinkai and Nanoka Hara visit Korea together for ‘Suzume’s Lockdown’


Director Makoto Shinkai, who directed the movie 'Suzume's Door Break', and Nanoka Hara, who plays the main character Suzume, will visit Korea.

According to distributor Showbox on the 22nd, director Makoto Shinkai and Nanoka Hara will visit Korea together from March 7th to 9th.

‘Suzume’s Lockdown’ is a new film from director Makoto Shinkai, who created a global sensation with ‘Your Name.’ In particular, director Makoto Shinkai became the triple 10 million director by mobilizing 10 million viewers three times in a row in Japan, including 'Your Name', 'Weather Child', and the new film 'Suzume's Lockdown'.

Next, 21 years after 'Spirited Away' (2002) won the Golden Bear, the Japanese feature-length animation film achieved the feat of being invited to the official competition section of the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, considered one of the world's top three film festivals.

Director Makoto Shinkai showed his special affection by never forgetting to visit Korea every time a new work was released, including '5 Centimeters per Second' (2007) and previous works, as well as 'Your Name' (2017) and 'Weather's Child' (2019).

This time, 'Suzume's Door Break' is also expected to spend meaningful time with fans as well as active promotional activities as it visits Korea again in time for the release date. Nanoka Hara, who is visiting Korea with director Makoto Shinkai, played the voice of the main character, Suzume, in 'Suzume's Door Breaker.'

Meanwhile, ‘Suzume’s Lockdown’ will be released on March 8.
