Baek Jong-won revealed the criteria for selecting founders of the Yesan Market Revitalization Project.

Baek Jong-won revealed the process of selecting founders. Baek Jong-won laughed, saying, "I tried to use young people. It's not because I ignore older people, but because I want them to last longer. Being young means being younger if you're younger than me." The second criterion was having grit and earnestness. Baek Jong-won explained, "I have been preparing for this since last year, and I have applied since then and waited until now. Now, I am a person who has no time to step down." Third, we considered that it should contribute to revitalizing the local economy. Baek Jong-won told the entrepreneurs, “The condition for moving in is to move your address here. This is to revive the local economy, and the local population is decreasing.”
Baek Jong-won said, “Yedeok Academy, where I am the chairman of the foundation, purchased it as a basic property for profit, leased it from The Born Korea, repaired it, renovated it, installed furniture, and now we hand it over to the founders with monthly profits. We pay the monthly fee to the foundation. “We divide the rent and kitchen equipment costs over 5 years and pay the amount divided by 1/n through depreciation,” he said. He continued, “The rent and interior construction costs paid during the remaining vacant period are free.” Baek Jong-won emphasized low prices to the founders, saying, “The bad thing is that food prices have to be cheap.”
