In the 12th episode of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Season of Kkokdu' (written by Kang Yi-heon and Heo Jun-woo/directed by Baek Soo-chan and Kim Ji-hoon/produced by People Story Company and Story TV) that aired yesterday (4th), Kkokdu (played by Im Soo-hyang), who tried to observe Hanjeol (Lim Soo-hyang), was aired yesterday (4th). Kim Jung-hyun's actions actually created a rift between the two.
After rescuing Hangyeol, who was almost kidnapped by Joongsik (Kim Youngwoong), Kokdu went to Kim Pilsu's (Choi Gwangil) hideout. Kokdu said that he would take away every single thing that Kim Pil-soo had, and I could feel the anger that he would never lose in the terrible game that Kim Pil-soo played.
However, Kokdu had one more important problem left to solve. When Han-cheol (played by Ahn Woo-yeon), who drank the same medicine that Joong-sik took, did not wake up, he witnessed Han Han-jeol secretly swallowing tears, and only then did he begin to understand the tears of those who would be left behind after death. Accordingly, Kokdu had to come up with a plan during his 20 days or so in this world to figure out how he could disappear so that Hanjeol could be less sad.
Meanwhile, Hangyejeol found out that Kokdu had disappeared and fell into confusion. While I was angry at the fact that Kkokdu's hesitant confession, as if he had something to say, was a declaration of farewell to leave this life, I was also filled with unbearable anxiety, fearing that Kkokdu would really leave me. The scene of Han Hane-jeol running out in shock and Kok-du secretly following behind him made viewers wonder when the distance between them would be narrowed.
Kokdu, who could not bear to see Han Hanjeol still holding his dead mother in his heart, made a firm decision of his own. Hangyeol was invited to the small gold and silver room and continued with the ordinary confession she had dreamed of. Han Hane-jeol, who does not want to be hurt again, nods to Kok-du's promise to be together until the distant future and takes a step closer to true love.
However, since Kokdu was destined to leave this world soon, the question arose as to what he was thinking when he promised Han Hane-jeol for the rest of his life. Kokdu's declaration, “I will not go to the underworld,” was then delivered, surprising everyone. This is because even Okshin (played by Kim In-kwon) and Gakshin (played by Cha Cheong-hwa) could not know what would happen when Kokdu, who had been running only for eternal death, refused to return to the afterlife.
Kokdu and Hanjeol, who share their fate once again, face an unavoidable danger, as if repeating a time from the distant past. Kim Pil-su, who never gives up, kidnaps Han-cheol and sets a trap for Kok-du and Han Han-jeol. Those who went to look for the kidnapped Han-cheol found a refrigerator with red blood on it and opened the door with trembling hearts. Soon, the pre-installed explosive exploded and Gokdu embraced Han Hane-jeol, revealing his abilities and realizing that he had moved to another space in the blink of an eye, Han Hane-jeol could not help but feel embarrassed.
Above all, the moment he witnessed Kokdu's wounds recovering in an instant, a fear he had never experienced came over him. The 12th episode of Hangejeol ended with the story of a man and a woman taking a step back from the cautiously approaching Kokdu, hinting that a cold winter is coming.
Meanwhile, in today's broadcast, it was revealed that Kokdu and Jeong Eun (played by Lee Jeong-jun) were brothers in the past. In particular, along with the stonenam flower ring that appeared in their past, the story behind the hair arrangement that ultimately led to Seol-hee's (Im Soo-hyang) death was also revealed, stimulating curiosity about how far this difficult fate will continue, making people look forward to the next story.
MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Season of Kokdu' will be canceled on the 10th (Friday) due to the broadcast of the '2023 World Baseball Classic Group B Group B Korea Republic vs. Japan' game, and episode 13 will be broadcast at 9:50 pm on the 11th (Saturday).
