Actors Jo Yoon-seo and Kwak Si-yang appear in the occult horror film 'Three Evil Islands' (directed by Chae Ki-jun).
According to distributor The Content On on the 8th, Jo Yoon-seo and Kwak Si-yang have confirmed their appearances in 'Three Evil Islands' and filming is in progress. 'Three Evil Islands' is a story about an investigative reporting team that uncovers the truth about a pseudo-religion that was believed to have disappeared during the Japanese colonial period and encounters the existence of absolute evil.
Jo Yoon-seo plays the role of Chae Yeon, a producer who specializes in reporting on cults. Jo Yoon-seo is expected to show a different side with stable acting through her first occult horror genre since her debut.
Kwak Si-yang was cast as Ryuhei Matsuda, a Japanese reporter who reports on the cult 'Three Evil Paths' and accompanies Soyeon's investigative reporting team. Kwak Si-yang will play the role of Japanese reporter Ryuhei Matsuda, not only delivering a tense performance but also speaking Japanese lines.
Yang Joo-ho appeared as Director Kang, Lim So-young played the role of Producer Woo-ram, and Jang Eui-soo appeared as Se-ho, joining the investigative reporting team.
Jo Yoon-seo said, "I am nervous and burdened because this is my first attempt at a genre film, but I will use this as motivation to work hard to create a good work. Please show your interest." Kwak Si-yang also said, “Through the movie ‘Three Evil Islands,’ I am challenging a new genre. Unlike the works I have participated in recently, I am excited because I think I will be able to meet the audience with a more heavy and serious atmosphere. From the script reading to the moment when I am about to crank in, I am excited about the genre. “I am working especially hard to capture the right atmosphere. I will work hard to film with good actors, directors, and staff and greet you with a good work,” he said.
Even though it was their first time working together at the script reading, the actors completely immersed themselves in each role, creating explosive tension. Director Chae Ki-jun, who was in charge of directing, said, "It's a good start from the reading. It's a real honor to meet such great actors and staff, and I will do my best as a director to make sure this time is not in vain. Please look forward to it."
