Yang Hee-eun, Oh Eun-young, and Jeong Mi-ae have overcome cancer and are continuing their activities.
In the 'Year-Round List' corner of KBS2's 'Year-Round Plus' aired on the 9th, we looked at stars who overcame cancer.
7th place was Jeong Mi-ae. Jeong Mi-ae received attention for her outstanding singing skills, but she caused disappointment when she revealed that she was suffering from tongue cancer. Jeong Mi-ae was in danger of having to have a third of her tongue cut out due to tongue cancer. Jeong Mi-ae said, "At that time, I didn't even like my husband humming and singing next to me," and "Now, I think I can do it, and I have the courage to take on the challenge."
Taewon Kim, ranked 6th, discovered cancer while filming the entertainment show ‘Qualifications of a Man’. In 'Qualifications of a Man', the members underwent health examinations, and Kim Tae-won was diagnosed with early-stage stomach cancer. Taewon Kim expressed his feelings, saying, “I think the expression means the sky is falling.” On the entertainment show 'Knee Drop Guru', he said, "I'm not afraid of dying, but I feel sorry about dying because I don't know how I will raise my beloved wife and children." Fortunately, Taewon Kim completed the treatment successfully.
Fifth place was Dr. Eunyoung Oh. During her first health checkup in 2008, Oh Eun-young discovered a malignant tumor in her gallbladder and cancerous cells in her colon. Oh Eun-young recalled that as she entered the operating room, she cried, saying her son's name. Fortunately, the gallbladder tumor was not gallbladder cancer, and the colon cancer was fully recovered.
Fourth place was Park So-dam. At the age of 29, Park So-dam was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer and underwent surgery to recover. Fortunately, he appeared healthy six months after the onset of the disease.
Third place was Hong Jin-kyung, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and received chemotherapy. Second place was Jinseong, who was battling lymphoma and blood cancer.
The first place was Yang Hee-eun, the godmother of the music industry. Yang Hee-eun was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer at the age of 30 and was sentenced to three months to live. Yang Hee-eun also remembered that time, saying, “The whole world stopped.” Yang Hee-eun said, “The teacher who performed the difficult surgery so that I could have a baby and sing was my lifelong benefactor.”
