Interview with Park Sung-woong from the movie ‘Woongnam’
Actor Park Sung-woong talked about Park Sung-gwang, who directed the movie ‘Woongnam’.
On the 20th, Park Seong-woong told various stories related to the upcoming movie 'Woongnam' (director Park Seong-gwang) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
'Woongnam' is a comical action film in which a man with a special secret called Asiatic Black Bear uses his unique beast-like abilities to cooperate in an investigation against an international criminal organization.
In the play, Park Seong-woong plays Woong-nam, a former police officer and now an unemployed local man, and Eung-buk, the second-in-command of an international criminal organization.
On this day, Park Seong-woong mentioned his relationship with Park Seong-gwang. He said, "I got to know him through an acquaintance. Heo Gyeong-hwan and I had a meal together through another acquaintance. That was when Park Seong-gwang was doing well. (If we get to know each other), there's nothing bad," he said. "The kids aren't bad at heart. They fight among themselves, but they're fine." “It was,” he said, causing laughter.
He continued, “After watching it a few times, Seong-gwang drank and said that his dream was to become a movie director. He said he would write a script and give it to me. So I told him to just have a drink. I let it go in one ear, but it became a reality two years ago. ‘Woong-nam said. ' When he gave me the script, he said, 'I wrote it while thinking of my brother.' That's why the title is also 'Woongnam.' I read it, but since it was written for me anyway, it's a movie that will be ruined immediately if I reject it. I don't keep in touch with Seonggwang every year, but I contacted him and we wrote it together. “I said let’s revise it. (The script) was drastically revised,” he added.
Park Seong-woong said, "Rather than trust as a director, I remembered the friend's enthusiasm from a year ago. He said he would give me a scenario and brought it back. He said he had been invested in it. So I said, 'Watch this?' I said, let's fix it well and make the investment good. I had trust as a director. “I have no idea what kind of director (Park Seong-gwang) is, so I decided to try to make it somehow,” he explained.
Also, "There was a 10-minute independent feature film directed by Seong Gwang. I saw that too. The genre was completely different. It wasn't even a comedy. I thought we could work hard together. I had to play two roles, so I was almost there on set. We put our heads together. “I fixed it. I went through a lot of trouble. It was the famous groin eczema,” he said, making everyone burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, 'Woongnam' will be released on the 22nd.
