‘First lead role’ Heo Seong-tae “I’m scared and excited about ‘Bait 2’”

“Now that Part 2 has been released, I can feel the tension. I think this is the pressure of the lead role. I was nervous. I also felt the pressure of ‘Will I be able to do another work?’ Because it is a turning point as an actor, the results must be good to be able to move on to the next work. “It’s half fear and half excitement.”

On the 4th, an interview with Coupang Play's 'Bait' Heo Seong-tae was conducted at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul. The Coupang Play drama 'Bait' is the story of people who track down 'that guy' who committed the worst fraud crime in history and hid behind death.

Part 1 tells the story of what happens after the worst conman of all time, who died eight years ago, is identified as a suspect in a serial murder. In Part 2 of 'Bait', which will be released on the 7th, the truth between those who pursue the fraudsters who surface to the end and those who deceive them is expected to be revealed.

Heo Seong-tae plays Noh Sang-cheon, the godfather of multi-level financial fraud and a person who symbolizes absolute evil. Regarding the reason why he appeared in ‘Bait’ as his first lead role, he said, “The script was fun. “It’s an unusual composition, but it was interesting that the characters from a distant era and place gradually narrowed down and encountered each other,” he said. “I wanted to express through acting how a character changes over a long period of time.” “I wanted to take on the challenge,” he said.

He added, “I played a character with variations in different time and space,” and added, “I think it would be good if viewers would view that positively.”

In addition, Heo Seong-tae said, "It seems like a position creates a person. I could see and feel everything from the other side of the camera. I naturally took care of it," and added, "If the supporting actor hits and runs with the intention of not causing any damage, the main actor is meticulous because he has been on the scene for a long time. “It feels like I’m falling apart,” he confessed.

‘Bait’ Part 2 will be released on Coupang Place on April 7.
