Lee Sun-gyun “I think he’s a villain who can be cute”

Actor Lee Sun-kyun revealed that he played Jonathan in the movie 'Killing Romance' thinking that he would be a cute villain.

On the afternoon of the 10th, a press screening for the movie ‘Killing Romance’ (directed by Lee Won-seok) was held at the Lotte Cinema Konkuk University entrance in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Director Lee Won-seok, Lee Ha-nui, and Lee Sun-gyun attended the press conference held after the preview.

'Killing Romance' is about top star Yeorae (played by Lee Ha-nui), who suddenly announces her retirement after falling in love with island tycoon Jonathan (played by Lee Seon-gyun), and meets Beom-woo (played by Gong Myeong), a student from the 3rd fan club, and plots an extraordinary comeback plan. It's a story.

In the play, Lee Sun-kyun plays Jonathan Na. Jonathan I am an icon of madness and obsession. They fall in love after a fateful meeting with Tathagata on Kuala Island.

On this day, Seon-gyun Lee said, "Because the character was exaggerated as a cartoon rather than a comedy, there were some hesitations. I thought I was approaching the character, and later, after building the character, I felt free. The makeup and costume team dressed Jonathan well. "The teamwork was good, like playing a mask game. I acted with good reactions. Anyway, the external appearance of the character was created with the help of many people. Interesting reactions come out when you watch and listen to the other person's acting. I think that's what made us Plus Alpha," he said.

He continued, "I don't think I played Jonathan thinking he was a villain. It's not a movie that shows it directly, but the love and happiness that I force came out of my obsession to make people really happy. Of course, I made it difficult for someone, but it wasn't my intention to look bad." He added, “I thought he was a villain who could be loved because his tone and manner were cartoon-like and cute, so I played him.”

Meanwhile, 'Killing Romance' will be released on the 14th.
