The current status of actor Ahn Seong-ki, who is suffering from blood cancer, has been revealed.
According to distributor CJ CGV and Red Ice Entertainment on the 11th, Ahn Seong-ki watched the movie with director Park Heung-sik, who directed the movie 'Birth', and actor Yoon Si-yoon at Art Nine in Dongjak-gu, Seoul on the 8th.
‘Birth’ depicts the great journey of Kim Dae-gun, the pioneer and first priest of Joseon, a young man who opened the way to modern Joseon. Ahn Seong-gi plays the role of Yu Jin-gil, a senior interpreter who teaches Chinese to Kim Dae-gun and his group and guides them in many areas, helping them study abroad in Macau.
Ahn Seong-gi took center stage both internally and externally in the film and provided a lot of help to the younger actors. At this event, he also showed off his special affection for movies and shared an emotional moment with his fellow actors.
'Birth' is the first feature film that tells the story of St. Andrew Kim Dae-geon, who is considered a great historical figure beyond the religious world. Since it was released last year, word of mouth and recommendations have continued, and group viewings have continued until this year.
Meanwhile, it was revealed that Ahn Sung-ki had health problems when he attended the 'Director Bae Chang-ho Special Exhibition' held at CGV Apgujeong in Seoul in September last year wearing a wig with a swollen face.
According to the agency, Ahn Seong-ki was diagnosed with blood cancer in 2019, began treatment, and was declared cured in 2020, but it relapsed during follow-up. It has been reported that his health has recently improved.
