"It was great just to know that 'Model Taxi 2' was doing Season 2. When I heard that Season 2 was going to happen, I had vague expectations. It felt like I was going back to where I should have been. I did it with the mindset of repaying the love I received for Season 1, and I loved it even more. I was grateful that they did it. I had to wait a little while for ‘Youth Month’ to air, which was filmed for almost a year, so I think it went by even faster.”
Pyo Ye-jin met viewers with the exciting revenge drama 'Model Taxi 2' on Fridays and Saturdays, and with the historical drama youth romance 'A Tale of Youth' on Mondays and Tuesdays. After completing two works, Pyo Ye-jin expressed her gratitude to the viewers with a bright face.
'Model Taxi 2' is a story about members of the mysterious taxi company Rainbow Transportation taking revenge on behalf of wronged victims. Pyo Ye-jin played the role of Ang Eun, a hacker and employee in the accounting department of Rainbow Transportation. Pyo Ye-jin experienced a seasonal drama for the first time with 'Model Taxi'. He said, "Because the cast passed on as is, the strong acting chemistry was more powerful. Since it was an extension of Season 1, it was easy for the actors to act. When I received the script for Part 1 of Season 2, I felt like I had received Part 17 of Season 1. “I read it naturally,” he said. He also boasted, "Now, we have chemistry on our own without having to guess or talk to each other in advance. We accept each other no matter what we do. We felt like family. Filming was much more comfortable."
In Season 1, Angoeun set out with the Rainbow Transportation team to seek revenge for her older sister, who committed suicide after becoming a victim of a cyber sex crime. In Season 2, Ango-eun, who has overcome the pain, becomes more active in helping those who request Rainbow Transportation. Pyo Ye-jin said, "Coming into season 2, I thought that Go-eun should change a little. In season 1, Go-eun did this desperately to survive the pain caused by her sister, but in season 2, she quits the police force and chooses rainbow fortune again. . I thought my sense of duty had grown significantly. I focused on showing a more reliable and professional partner than before. I also prepared the styling to look mature rather than young. Not only did I resolve Kim Do-gi's (played by Lee Je-hoon) instructions, but I also became a dependable partner. “As a partner, I tried to show that I was the first to get things done without even having to say anything,” he explained.
Members of the Rainbow Transportation team disguise themselves as various people during operations to punish vicious criminals such as cult leaders and fraud groups targeting the elderly. Pyo Ye-jin also showed off a variety of secondary characters, including a filial piety performance singer, a nurse, and a new bride. While preparing to be a singer for the Filial Piety Performance, I took lessons and prepared props and dance moves. Pyo Ye-jin, who mainly provided rear support in the call van as a hacker on the Rainbow Transportation team and was in charge of information, also increased the number of times she was deployed as a 'field agent' in Season 2. Pyo Ye-jin said, "When I first received the script, I thought it would be fun because there were parts where I could play outside. I also had expectations that I would be able to show a side of me that I couldn't show before. I've seen Je-hoon oppa's brilliant secondary character play a lot, so I thought I should do it properly, too." “I was greedy,” he said, laughing.
In the episode where real estate fraudsters were caught, Kim Do-gi also pretended to be a newlywed couple. Pyo Ye-jin said, "There were a lot of parts that had to be ad-libbed, but mainly when Je-hoon oppa came up with an idea, I followed along well. There were a lot of ad-libs, such as crossing arms, making a heart, and being cute while pretending to be a newlywed couple to fool real estate fraudsters. “It was embarrassing,” he said, laughing. He praised Lee Je-hoon, who acted with him, saying, "My brother prepares surprisingly well and comes up with a lot of ideas. I respect him. Seeing that made me reflect."
When asked to choose the episode that made her most angry, Pyo Ye-jin chose the real estate fraudster episode. In the play, a real estate fraudster commits the atrocity of having people who desperately want a house adopt an orphan, then raising their subscription score to win, and then selling it off. Pyo Ye-jin confessed, "The whole incident made me angry, but I was especially angry that it was a business that exploited children. The child actor acted well, so my heart ached even more and I cried."
Pyo Ye-jin also chose Ahn An-eun as her ‘favorite character.’ He said, "Go Eun is strong and easy-going, but there is also pain. As an actor, it is a good character with a lot to show in various ways. I had no idea that a character like this would come to me. At the time, I was not offered a character so I had a strong sense of challenge and wanted to do it well. She is solid and strong. “I felt affection for her because she was a character with a lot of pain. I wonder if I will ever be able to play a character as cool as Go Eun.”
Pyo Ye-jin also expressed her affection for Jang Garam, who she played in ‘Worth of Youth’. He confessed, “It’s a character I liked a lot, so I feel sad (when the broadcast ends).” 'A Tale of Youth' is a romance that tells the story of Crown Prince Lee Hwan (played by Park Hyeong-sik), who is under a mysterious curse, and Min Jae-i (played by Jeon So-ni), a genius girl who is singled out as the culprit of a family murder case overnight. Jang Garam, played by Pyo Ye-jin, is Min Jae-i's servant.
Pyo Ye-jin tried her hand at the historical drama genre with ‘A Tale of Youth’. He said, "I've made special appearances in historical dramas, but this was my first time officially. I've always wanted to try the historical drama genre someday, and if I were to do it, I wanted to do a youth historical drama, and it was nice that it happened to be exactly as I thought."
In the play, Jang Garam becomes a reliable partner and helps Min Jae Yi in both material and spiritual ways so that he can recall memories that can become clues to a mysterious incident. Pyo Ye-jin immersed herself in the honest and exciting character of Jang Garam and gave viewers enjoyment with her sly acting. Pyo Ye-jin, who also disguised herself as a man, laughed and said, "I was worried about whether topknot hair would suit me, but dressing as a man was comfortable and I liked it. I felt much more comfortable than other actors because I was dressed as a man. My status in the play is not high. I don't mind getting my clothes dirty, so it's good because I can sit anywhere."
Pyo Ye-jin, who debuted in 2012, has already celebrated her 10th anniversary in acting. Pyo Ye-jin said, "When I was in my 20s, I was impatient and greedy, but now I've learned to accept things naturally as they go. I feel like everything is okay. I feel like I have peace of mind." He continued, "In the past, I compared myself to others and had a strong desire to grow up quickly. When I suddenly looked back, I realized that every role and work I did was precious. When I thought about whether I could exchange it for someone else's, the answer was 'I don't like it.' “I thought it would be okay to take my own path now,” he said.
Pyo Ye-jin, who worked as a flight attendant before her debut. He said, "The reason I changed my career to an actor is because I tried to find a job that suited me well and that I could have fun with. Now, I enjoy working on set. I like working together with people toward one goal. "I'm excited when I see the results. If something more interesting than this comes along, I might quit, but I think I'll continue to do this job where I can continue to challenge myself. It's a joy to be able to do something I like," he emphasized.
