Director James Gunn, who directed the movie 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume: 3', revealed that he was inspired by the Korean movie 'The Villainess'.
On the morning of the 18th, a press conference for the movie 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3' was held at the Conrad Seoul Hotel located in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Director James Gunn, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff attended the event.
In 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3', Peter Quill (Chris Pat), who has been grieving over the loss of Gamora (Zoe Saldana), joins forces with the Guardians team once again to protect the galaxy and his colleagues in danger. It tells the story of going on a mission that may be their last if they do not succeed.
On this day, director James Gunn said, "This is my first time visiting Korea. My favorite movies are Korean movies, and I'm glad to be in the country of Korean movies. It's meaningful that we arrived in Korea as the first stop of the team 'Guardians' world tour. “This is the last work. It’s a work where I laugh and cry a lot. I also felt excited.”
He continued, "I came because I wanted to come to Korea. I love Korean movies and am a huge fan. I have many Korean friends. I have never been to Korea before, so I really wanted to come. Korean fans cheered and supported us through the first and second movies. He sent me a letter. Since it was the last time, I was given one chance, so I decided to come to Korea.”
Director James Gunn said, "Films continue to change depending on the country. Each country has its own cinematic characteristics. I think Korean films have been the best in cinema for the past 10 years or more. I really like 'Parasite' and 'Mother.' "I was very inspired by Korean movies. It's nice to come here and meet everyone and share our movies together. While making this movie, I was inspired by the Korean movie 'The Villainess'."
Meanwhile, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3’ will be released on May 3.
