Broadcaster Jang Seong-gyu expressed his condolences by conveying the news of the death of the late Astro member Moonbin.
On MBC FM4U's 'Good Morning FM This is Jang Seong-gyu' broadcast on the 20th, Jang Seong-gyu said, "There was unfortunate news this morning. “I can’t believe it, but the news came that Astro’s Moonbin passed away at home yesterday,” he began.
He continued, “When I saw it recently, it looked so bright that I couldn’t quite tell what was going on. “I pray for the deceased to rest in peace,” he cried, adding, “I am in a position where I have to give strength to you all, so I will once again gather strength and focus on the broadcast.”
Jang Sung-gyu and Moonbin worked together on SBS' 'Story of That Day 3' last January.
According to Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, Moonbin was found collapsed at his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul at 8:10 pm on the 19th. The manager who discovered Moonbin reported him, but he was pronounced dead.
Fantagio announced the news of the death early on the 20th, saying, "We would like to first say that we are sorry for delivering sad and heartbreaking news. On April 19th, Astro member Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky."
He continued, "It is even more heartbreaking to deliver this sudden news to the fans who supported Moonbin and gave him so much love. I am even more heartbroken because I know the heart of the deceased who always loved and thought about his fans more than anyone else." “According to the wishes of the bereaved family, the funeral will be held as quietly as possible with family friends and co-workers in attendance,” he announced.
Moonbin was born in 1998 and is 26 years old this year. He debuted as Astro in 2016 and was also active in the unit ‘Moonbin & Sanha’ with member Sanha.
