Director Lee Byung-hun's new film 'Dream' starring Park Seo-joon and IU took first place at the box office on the first day of its release.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie tickets on the 27th, 'Dream', which was released on the 26th, mobilized 93,420 people. ‘Super Mario Bros.’, which was released on the same day, ranked second. ‘Super Mario Bros.’ attracted 89,692 people. The difference in the number of daily viewers between the two films was 3,728.

'Dream', which topped the box office, is the story of Hong Dae (played by Park Seo-joon), a former soccer player with no sense of purpose, and So-min (played by IU), a passionless producer, who attempt to achieve an impossible dream together with a ragtag group of homeless national team players. 'Super Mario Bros' is an all-time super adventure in which Mario, an ordinary plumber from New York, levels up to become Super Mario to save his younger brother Luigi, who has been kidnapped by Koopa, a villain from another world.

As of 7:30 a.m., the top spot in advance reservation rate was ‘Super Mario Bros.’ 166,074 people made reservations for ‘Super Mario Bros.’ with a reservation rate of 38.8%. 'Dream' ranked second with 79,865 people (18.7%).
