Rookie Hong Sa-bin goes to Cannes with Song Joong-ki for 'The Hwaran'

Rookie Hong Sa-bin will attend the Cannes International Film Festival with the movie ‘Hwaran’ (directed by Kim Chang-hoon).

According to her agency Sam Company on the 15th, Hong Sa-bin will visit the Cannes International Film Festival with 'Dwaran'. 'Dwarf' was officially invited to the Un Certain Regard section of the 76th Cannes International Film Festival and will be released as a world premiere.

'Hwaran' is a story that unfolds when Yeon-gyu (played by Hong Sa-bin), a boy who wants to escape from the hellish reality, meets Chi-geon (played by Song Joong-ki), the middle boss of an organization, and joins him in a dangerous world.

Sabin Hong graduated from the Department of Theater and Film at Hanyang University and debuted in 2018 with the film 'Vacation', which was selected as an invited film to the 17th Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival. He showed impressive acting in 'Heat Wave', which won the grand prize in the youth-college student category at the 10th Chungmuro Short Film Festival.

In addition, in the 2020 play 'Orphan Cho, Seed of Revenge', he gave a passionate performance as the main character Orphan Cho, showing off his potential as a theater actor and revealing a strong presence on stage. Hong Sa-bin is known as a member of Sam Company, including Hwang Jung-min and Park Jung-min, so it is highly anticipated that she will be active in various genres.

In 'Hwaran', he plays the main character, Yeon-gyu, and delicately portrays the emotions of an 18-year-old boy who entered a rough world. Sabin Hong expressed her feelings, "I am so honored and grateful to be a part of this wonderful film. I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff who worked hard until the film festival was announced."
