On the morning of the 22nd, a press conference for the production of the movie 'The Scion' (director Park Hoon-jung) was held at Lotte Cinema in Konkuk University, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Director Park Hoon-jung and actors Kim Seon-ho, Kang Tae-joo, Kim Kang-woo, and Go Ara attended the production briefing.
Among them, Kim Seon-ho and Kang Tae-joo are actors who debuted on the screen side by side through 'The Scion'. In the case of Kim Seon-ho, he made his debut in the play 'New Boing-Boing' in 2009 and appeared in the dramas 'Eulachacha Waikiki 2', 'Startup', 'Sea Village Cha Chacha', etc. He was loved by the public through his bright and light-hearted works, but this is his first film. Kang Tae-joo is a rookie who debuted in the 2020 drama 'Missing: They Were', and will make a film debut with 'The Scion'.
The Scion, played by Kim Seon-ho, is a person who makes Marco's struggle to earn money a mess. Kim Seon-ho introduced the character of the scion as "a clear-eyed madman who suddenly appeared chasing after Marco." In addition, when the MC said, “He kept drinking cola,” he laughed, saying, “I drank non-stop,” and “Hanshin, I think I ate five bottles per cut.” In fact, in the recently released trailer, Kim Seon-ho drew attention with the appearance of drinking cola.
In the work, Kim Seon-ho digested real and intense action such as car chasing, wire, and shooting action, and was divided into a character of a ruthless, yet witty, anti-war character. He also tried to transform his image into a person who wears a neat suit and sticks to a pomade hairstyle.
Regarding this, Kim Seon-ho said, "There was an opinion that it would be nice to be neat in common. They said to express the character's personality with a clean appearance." There is," he explained.
He continued, "You can tell by looking at his personality, but even at the moment of shooting, he laughs and enjoys himself. I also thought, 'Oh, this character is not normal'" and "I made it while talking with the director to express a detailed look. The question I asked the most was 'why is this?' It was," he said, laughing.
Kang Tae-joo, who was selected for the role of 'Scion' Marco through a competition rate of 1980 to 1, said he did his best in training for the boxer character. He said, "I prepared according to the schedule of a boxer. I was able to digest running well because I raised my basic stamina a lot," he said. In fact, Kang Tae-joo drew attention with a completely different appearance from Marco in the movie. In response, senior Kim Kang-woo said, "I can't adapt, because I'm far-fetched. Who are you?"
In particular, director Park Hoon-jung said, "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried, but I didn't have an alternative," and briefly replied, "I think I did well now."
'The Scion' will be released on June 21st.
