A complaint has been filed against the representative of an entertainment agency who is accused of fraud and breach of trust.
According to the related industry on the 28th, attorney Yang Yang-jeong of the law firm recently filed a lawsuit against an entertainment representative named Kim, who was a former film director, on charges of fraud and breach of trust on behalf of three celebrities.
Mr. Kim is accused of not properly settling the broadcast and advertisement appearance fees of the three celebrities. In addition, the problem of non-payment of wages of employees within the company has also been raised.
It is known that comedian Lee Byung-jin and singer and actor Danny Ahn, a member of the group god (G.O.D), participated in the complaint. Their estimated damage alone was reported to be about 400 million won.
Through a media outlet, Lee Byung-jin said, "Because I was both the (shopping mall) representative and the (affiliation company) representative, I had the idea that I would receive it all at once. One day, the company suddenly disappeared. I feel very disappointed and betrayed."
In addition, an employee who suffered damages from overdue wages announced, "I trusted him more because he was a director who appeared in the media, but the overdue amount ranged from 1.5 million won to 20 million won...".
Attorney Yang said, "Besides the artists' victims, the number of victims is expected to increase as there are also issues with employees not paying their wages and clients who haven't received the money."
The police plan to call Mr. Kim in the future to investigate the related incident.
