The movie 'Green House' is a work that depicts a never-ending chain of caring. It is based on the stories of people who have lived as someone's daughter or someone's mother.
Actor Kim Seo-hyung's high-density acting ability and the situation where he is forced to breathe without a chance to breathe make it seem like I am experiencing the same situation. Can the audience also immerse themselves in and sympathize with the tenacious character 'Munjeong' played by Kim Seo-hyung? The situation in which a familiar material is transformed into suspense is the point of watching the movie.
On the 11th, a press conference for the movie 'Vinyl House' (director Lee Sol-hee) was held at the entrance of Lotte Cinema Konkuk University in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Director Lee Sol-hee and actors Kim Seo-hyung, Yang Jae-seong, and Ahn So-yo attended.
The movie 'Green House' is the story of 'Moon-jeong' (Kim Seo-hyung), who lives in a vinyl house and works as a nursing home. When an old woman he was caring for died in an accident, he made an irreversible choice to hide it, leading to catastrophe. This is the first feature film debut by director Lee Sol-hee, who won three awards at the 27th Busan International Film Festival, including the CGV Award, the Watcha Award, and the Aurora Media Award.
In the movie, 'caring' continues repeatedly. In the space where Moonjeong works, she has to take care of the elderly, take care of her sick mother, or earn money for her son. Director Lee Sol-hee explained, “This film started with the keyword ‘care.
In particular, the space where Munjeong lives is a vinyl house. Director Lee Sol-hee revealed a personal anecdote about the vinyl house. He said, "It's a personal story. There were a lot of vinyl houses because there was a flower complex nearby where I grew up. When I was young, vinyl houses looked good and it seemed like a fantasy space. As I grew up, vinyl houses remained the same, but I thought I was the only one who changed, so I wrote this as a material. I guess," he replied.
Then, when asked if there was a message he wanted to throw through the movie, he said, "I wanted to tell you that you can survive and that there is hope. I thought it would be nice to have the courage to live for myself, not for myself.”
Actor Seohyung Kim plays the role of 'Moonjeong', who lives in a vinyl house but tries to find a house to live with her son.
In the play, 'Munjeong' is portrayed as a person who overcomes a tenacious and hard life. When asked how he acted, Seohyung Kim said, "She was a woman I wanted to avoid. The moment I read the scenario, I cried a lot. It could be possible, but it was difficult to face what could happen. I had to go to the set by being myself. At this point, a year later, I don't remember the difficulties at the set. It was difficult to face it after watching the movie." did.
Kim Seo-hyung, who played Yoo Yi-hwa, a character who is persecuted by her husband in the drama 'Paper Moon', takes on a character who has to overcome life one after another. He said, "I tend to absorb it quickly. The character Moonjeong is a character who harms herself, not self-injury. I also felt sorry for myself, thinking, 'How much more sick will I have to meet a role?'. After meeting the director and asking about his intentions, I decided on the project." he replied.
Kim Seo-hyung, who spent a lot of time with vinyl houses on site as much as Moonjeong lived in them, said, “I saw a lot of vinyl houses when I grew up in the countryside. Living in the countryside, I have a strange longing for vinyl houses. There are no big buildings. , The vinyl house wasn't that strange. I even thought about wanting to live in a vinyl house for a while. I absorbed it thinking that Munjung would have lived there, so I just lay down on the set."
Regarding the acting collaboration with actor Ahn So-yo, who played 'Soonnam', he smiled, saying, "Actress Ahn So-yo showed me a lot of raw things. He will fly to the point where I can't even say my lines. This is a good meaning."
Actor Yang Jae-sung played the role of 'Tae-gang', a professor at the house of an elderly couple where 'Mun-jung' works and who has a visual impairment. When asked what part he focused on acting, he replied, "There are people who live with all the characters struggling. So it hurts my heart. I also thought about the fact that there are quite a few people like this around us."
Although he is an actor with years of experience, he said that he had a lot of worries about playing a character with an acquired visual impairment. He explained, "In fact, they are no different from ordinary people. It was a little difficult to think about where to look naturally without showing off."
Then, when asked about acting with Kim Seo-hyung, "Actress Kim Seo-hyung has so much experience, so there was no discomfort at all. He tried to make it comfortable for me. While acting, I tend to tell my juniors and colleagues, 'If you feel uncomfortable, talk to me.' I thought it was," he said.
Actor Ahn So-yo plays the role of 'Sunnam' who admires and follows Moon-jung at a meeting where he goes to be treated.
Ahn So-yo made an impression on the audience by playing Gyeong-ran, a victim of school violence, in the Netflix series 'The Glory'. When asked what he focused on the Soonnam character of 'Green House', he said, "When I saw the scenario, the story was so fun. I read 'Crazy' and read the last page. I was deeply fascinated by this character. I don't have any malice, but because of my innocence, I think I could be seen as a nice person depending on the perspective. I think I fell in love with this character and acted."
Regarding the special preparation for Soonnam, who appears for the first time at the treatment meeting, he said, “I just worked hard to do my job. He showed his affection for the character, saying, "I saw each characteristic as a unique characteristic and worked on the role by building up my temperament one by one. Sunnam wasn't just lovable, so I was more lovable."
Ahn So-yo, an actress who shows the ever-changing acting transformation. Regarding the genre he wants to challenge in the future, "I have a lot of thirst and thirst for acting. I think I will drink it sweetly no matter what role I am given. I also ate the pure male character sweetly. People who can be said to be a minority in society are ordinary, but if you look closely, they have a special charm. I think I'm attracted to people with this."
When asked about the acting collaboration with actor Kim Seo-hyung, he said, "The gaze at 'Moonnam' as 'Sunnam' in the play and the gaze in reality were not different. I saw seniors with it,” and everyone burst into laughter.
