Emotional Confrontation: Byun Eun-ah Faces Her Estranged Mother in 'Fighting Against Worthlessness'
In the latest episode of JTBC's weekend drama 'Fighting Against Worthlessness', Byun Eun-ah (played by Go Yoon-jung) confronts her estranged mother Oh Jung-hee (played by Bae Jong-ok) with a powerful rebuke.

The episode aired on the 3rd, featuring a tense phone call between Byun Eun-ah and her mother, whom she had not seen since she was nine years old.

Oh Jung-hee mistakenly calls her by her childhood name, "Si-on," to which Byun Eun-ah corrects her, saying, "It's Eun-ah. Byun Eun-ah."

Bae Jong-ok's character attempts to reconnect, saying, "Why did you change your name? I didn't know. I didn't know your father had passed. Don't worry anymore. I'm here now. You can do anything you want. If you want, you can study again, go abroad. Just tell me where you want to go, and I'll make it happen."

However, Byun Eun-ah's heart, frozen since she was nine, remains unmoved. She retorts, "Why? Are you still ashamed of me? Do you wish I would disappear? Or are you picking up the daughter you abandoned just to save yourself?"

Bae Jong-ok tries to explain, "I didn't abandon you; I left your father. If I had known he was dead, I would have taken you with me." But Byun Eun-ah's emotions only intensify.

Byun Eun-ah firmly states, "No matter how cornered you were, I have my memories, and you have yours. Don't pretend to have maternal instincts."

She recalls her childhood, saying, "When I was nine, I made my own kimbap for a picnic, trying not to let anyone know I was the pitiful child. I changed my name and lived quietly so no one would find out."

Finally, she warns, "Don't ever let anyone find out that the pitiful child Oh Jung-hee abandoned is me. I won't let it be known either," expressing her deep-seated resentment towards her mother.
