Singer Kim Hyun-jung Opens Up About Vocal Cord Surgery and 'Hidden Singer 8' Appearance

Singer Kim Hyun-jung revealed her struggles with appearing on 'Hidden Singer 8' after undergoing vocal cord surgery that changed her voice.

On the episode of JTBC's 'Hidden Singer 8' aired on the 28th, Kim Hyun-jung appeared as the original singer.

Kim Hyun-jung shared the unseen challenges she faced in trying to recapture the voice from her prime in her 20s. She confessed, "When I was contacted by 'Hidden Singer,' I initially felt good about the idea of meeting the Kim Hyun-jung from my 20s. However, the pressure to reproduce my old voice made me tense and stressed for two to three months."

Kim Hyun-jung discussed the physical changes following her vocal cord surgery. She stated, "After the surgery, it became difficult to produce sound, so I completely changed my singing technique and even my body." She added, "Trying to sing like before with my changed body was so challenging that I seriously considered withdrawing from the show."

After successfully completing all her performances, Kim Hyun-jung expressed, "My voice has changed now, and I hope people will become familiar with this new voice." She concluded with heartfelt gratitude, saying, "I am thankful to everyone who has been with me for a long time, and I will never forget it."

'Hidden Singer 8' airs on Tuesdays at 8:50 PM.
