Hwang Bo-ra Opens Up About the Challenges of Parenting Her Son
On the 28th, a video titled 'First Amusement Park Outing with My 1-Year-Old Son: Why We Had to Stop Filming | The Reality of Parenting and Family Trips' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Hwang Bo-ra Variety'.
Hwang Bo-ra and her family planned a spring trip to a resort in Gangwon Province with college friends and their families. Hwang Bo-ra commented, "All three couples are parents. I'm curious to see if this will be an easy or tough parenting experience."
When Hwang Bo-ra and her friends' families gathered, there were four children in total. As a friend's son played well with Hwang Bo-ra's son, Woo-in, she felt a brief respite from parenting, saying, "It's nice to just sit back and relax."
They soon headed to the amusement park within the resort. However, as the long lines tested their patience, Woo-in began to get fussy. Once on the ride, Woo-in's restlessness left Hwang Bo-ra feeling overwhelmed, and both she and her husband appeared increasingly tense.
The next day, on the drive back home, Woo-in's fussiness resumed. Hwang Bo-ra lamented, "Raising a son is really tough." She added, "He whined for an entire hour on the highway. That day was my breaking point."
Upon finally reaching Seoul, Hwang Bo-ra was so exhausted that she couldn't even make it out of the car. Feeling utterly drained, she questioned, "What's the problem? Woo-in is so restless and hyperactive that I can't handle it. I can't manage or control him at all. Is something wrong with Woo-in? Is my parenting approach flawed? It's getting harder and harder." She also mentioned, "I think Woo-in might need counseling." In the subtitles, she admitted, "Honestly, I wanted to cry. I'm at my wit's end. I endure with love, but it's honestly too much."
