Tensions Rise in 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri' as Cabbage Field Mystery Deepens

Park Sung-woong gets closer to uncovering the culprit behind the ruined cabbage field.

On the 23rd, the fifth episode of KBS 2TV's Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri' aired at 9:50 PM, showcasing a fierce rivalry between Seong Tae-hoon (played by Park Sung-woong) and Lim Joo-hyung (played by Lee Seo-hwan), captivating viewers. However, the show has struggled with ratings in the 2% range since its premiere on the 26th of last month.

In this episode, while Seong Ji-cheon (played by Lee Jin-woo) and Lim Bo-mi (played by Choi Gyu-ri) shared a budding romance, the conflict between their fathers, Seong Tae-hoon and Lim Joo-hyung, intensified, adding to the tension. Lim Joo-hyung declared, "I'll destroy your entire field!" to Seong Tae-hoon, who responded, "It's war with that family, war!" escalating the emotions between the two families.

The next day, Seong Tae-hoon's cabbage field was found trampled, shocking everyone. Convinced that village chief Lim Joo-hyung was the culprit, Seong Tae-hoon confronted him, leading to another clash. The feud even spread to their wives, Jo Mi-ryeo (played by Lee Soo-kyung) and Nam Hye-seon (played by Nam Kwon-ah), resulting in a comical encounter.

Seong Tae-hoon sought out Officer Park (played by Choi Woo-jin) but discovered that the only CCTV near the cabbage field was owned by Lim Joo-hyung. Lim Joo-hyung denied the accusations, saying, "I'm too busy with the cabbage harvest to be pulling up someone else's cabbages." Determined to find the culprit, Seong Tae-hoon began his own investigation, closely monitoring the villagers based on clues left at the scene.

Meanwhile, Seong Ji-cheon and Lim Bo-mi experienced awkwardness following an unexpected kiss and their fathers' ongoing feud. Lim Bo-mi expressed her disappointment at Seong Ji-cheon's lack of expression, putting their romance at risk. However, when Officer Park visited Lim Bo-mi's house at the invitation of the village chief couple, Seong Ji-cheon confessed his true feelings, "It wasn't a mistake. I like you, Bo-mi!" Lim Bo-mi embraced him, marking the start of their relationship, much to the delight of viewers.

Seong Tae-hoon learned from a company employee that there was no official manager for the Yeonliri branch, leaving him confused. He suspected that Director Choi (played by Min Sung-wook) might have planted Noh Hyun-gap (played by Jung Sun-chul) to sabotage his project. After restoring the field with remaining seedlings, Seong Tae-hoon stayed up all night, waiting for the culprit.

Towards the end of the episode, tension rose as Lim Joo-hyung checked the CCTV near the field, and a mysterious figure visited Jo Mi-ryeo's house. A suspicious silhouette appeared in Seong Tae-hoon's field, leaving viewers on edge. Seong Tae-hoon's narration, "I hope my intuition is wrong," hinted at a breakthrough in identifying the culprit, ending the episode with a cliffhanger.
