The iconic Italian luxury empire, Gucci, is not only known for its glamorous fashion but also for the dark and tragic story of its heir, Maurizio Gucci, who was murdered in a plot orchestrated by his ex-wife, revealing the obsession and raw human nature behind the facade.

On the evening of the 21st at 8:30 PM, KBS2TV's 'Celebrity Soldier's Secret' delved into the world-renowned luxury brand 'Gucci' and the brutal family saga hidden behind its illustrious reputation.

Guest Lee Nak-jun expressed surprise at the fact that most luxury brands are named after their founders, while Christina opened the discussion by recalling that Gucci, a traditional Italian brand, is famous worldwide but also notorious for the fierce internal family feuds.

Lee Chan-won described the fateful meeting of Maurizio Gucci and Patrizia Reggiani at a Milan social party in the 1970s, where Maurizio fell in love at first sight with Patrizia, who was wearing a captivating red dress, leading to their whirlwind marriage just two years later.

However, their union, which defied the opposition of the Gucci family, marked the beginning of a tragedy. Maurizio's father, Rodolfo Gucci, vehemently opposed the marriage because Patrizia was not from a noble family, resulting in a desolate scene with empty seats on the groom's side at the wedding. This love, lacking the family's blessing, ultimately ended in disaster when Maurizio Gucci was assassinated in March 1995 on his way to work, in a meticulously planned attack reminiscent of a mafia hit. Christina, who lived near the crime scene, vividly recounted the atmosphere of fear that engulfed the affluent neighborhood and the shock that rippled through Italian society.

Shockingly, the mastermind behind the murder was revealed to be his ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani. Even as she was arrested, Patrizia maintained an air of arrogance in her luxurious attire, claiming in court that her brain tumor was to blame for her murder plot, leaving everyone in disbelief.

Lee Nak-jun analyzed from a medical perspective whether brain damage could serve as an excuse for crime, while Shuka explained the economic background of how the empire built by bellboy-turned-founder Guccio Gucci crumbled due to family share disputes, adding intrigue to the story.
