Behind the Scenes of 'After School Teacher Taeri': A Heartwarming Journey to the School Play

'After School Teacher Taeri' wraps up preparations for the school play.

On the 19th, the 9th episode of tvN's 'After School Teacher Taeri' aired, showcasing the final preparations for the play 'The Wizard of Oz'. The after-school drama club teachers and students poured their hearts into rehearsals and promotions, igniting pure passion.

The drama club students began their first rehearsal on the stage where they would perform on the day of the school festival. Under the direction of Kim Taeri, the students acted as if it were the real performance, while Choi Hyun-wook and Kangnam managed the backstage movements and settings, showcasing their strong presence. Music director Code Kunst played music fitting the scenes and noted areas needing improvement.

The students impressed by immediately incorporating Kim Taeri's guidance into their performances, delivering long or difficult lines flawlessly, and expressing their characters through expressions and movements. Their seamless dialogue exchanges proved their stage aptitude, raising expectations for the actual performance.

After the rehearsal, Kim Taeri praised the students, saying, "It was so much fun watching you. Seeing you on stage felt so real, and you seem to be doing much better." Code Kunst, who was particularly moved by the final track, shared the behind-the-scenes of creating the ending song with the hope that the after-school drama club would become a cherished memory, expressing, "It was a different kind of emotion than what I've felt while making music."

As the day ended, 2002-born Choi Hyun-wook shared his thoughts with 1990-born Kim Taeri and 1987-born Kangnam about the weight of standing before the children as a teacher and his desire to become a better adult, drawing attention. His growth into a composed teacher, thanks to his sincere efforts to be a good mentor, was evident.

The day before the school festival, Choi Hyun-wook and Kangnam went to town to promote the play and recruit an audience. Starting with posting a flyer at the barbershop Choi visited about two weeks ago, they earnestly promoted the play at the foot bath where residents gathered and the costume shop that helped with the play's costumes.

Kim Taeri conducted a one-on-one acting class, providing a special session for Dohyun, who wanted to improve his role as the Tin Man, adding warmth to the scene. Thanks to Taeri's warm guidance, which touched not only acting but also the heart, Dohyun performed more dynamically and confidently, bringing a smile to everyone's face.

Meanwhile, while Kim Taeri was conducting the acting class, Choi Hyun-wook and Kangnam discovered her notebook at the dorm, revealing her genuine dedication to the after-school drama club. The notebook, filled with her intense thoughts and teaching moments from the past two weeks in Mungyeong, left them in awe.
