Netflix's 'Death Game 2: The Ultimate Winner' Returns with New Faces and Intense Competition

Netflix's 'Death Game' is making a comeback with its second season. Previously, Kwak Tube shared a cryptic message, "That's how you become a father," on his social media on the 1st, revealing that the postpartum care center he was staying at was sponsored. However, the sponsorship hashtag was suddenly removed, raising suspicions. Online speculations suggested it might be due to his wife's status as a public official. Consequently, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission is reviewing the sponsorship.

Set to premiere on April 22, Netflix's daily variety show 'Death Game 2: The Ultimate Winner' (directed by Kwon Dae-hyun, produced by TEO) will feature a weekly tournament format to determine the sole ultimate winner in a brainy final match. The tournament will proceed based on the number of seeds awarded as a symbol of victory in Season 1. The 1:1 matches from Season 1 build up to an epic grand finale, heightening anticipation.

'Death Game 2' will feature returning contestants from Season 1 alongside powerful new faces. Joining the cast are Kwak Tube, a travel YouTuber with 2.15 million subscribers known for his role in 'Devil's Plan,' Miss Korea and elite student Park Hee-sun from 'Single's Inferno 5,' and KiiiKiii's leader Ji-yoo, who embodies the Gen Z spirit of playfulness and competitiveness.

The teaser video released on the 15th captures attention with Pengsoo's provocative "Come on" and unveils the tournament format. The gathering of Yoo Ri-sa, Heo Sung-beom, Kwak Tube, Park Hee-sun, and Ji-yoo presents a stark contrast to the 1:1 match focus of Season 1, amplifying the tension. Commentator Jang Dong-min emphasizes, "Only being number one matters," foreshadowing a fiercer competition.

Expectations are high for the new faces. Kwak Tube confidently states, "I'll do better than Pani Bottle," while Park Hee-sun expresses her engagement, saying, "This is why people do survival shows." Ji-yoo adds, "It would be fun to play games with Ga-eul unnie."

The original cast is also set for a strong comeback. Yoo Ri-sa vows to "completely crush" her opponents, seeking revenge for her Season 1 defeat. Park Sung-woong and Pengsoo, each holding one seed, also set their sights on Hong Jin-ho with determination. The varied expressions of the players, along with the surprised reactions of caster Park Sang-hyun and commentator Jang Dong-min, are captured.

The accompanying poster further raises expectations, showcasing the confident gazes of the competitors. The tournament format is clearly depicted, featuring Hong Jin-ho, the ultimate boss with two wins, alongside DinDin, IVE's Ga-eul, and single-time winners Pengsoo, Park Sung-woong, Seo Chul-goo, and the new challengers Kwak Tube, Yoo Ri-sa, Park Hee-sun, Heo Sung-beom, and Ji-yoo. The bold phrase 'Brainy Final Match' heightens curiosity about who will emerge as the ultimate winner.
