'I Am SOLO' Season 31: Hyun-sook's Unexpected Exit and Awkward Dates
On the October 15th episode of the ENA and SBS Plus reality show 'I Am SOLO', viewers witnessed the intense deliberations of the female contestants as they faced the choice between group dates or individual selections. The episode also revealed the outcomes of their first date choices.
The 14 contestants of Season 31 embarked on their first date selections. As the male contestants made their date requests, the female contestants had to decide. Young-soo was the first to express his interest, shouting, "I'm lonely!" Although he secretly hoped for Soon-ja, he was taken aback when Jung-sook chose him. In an interview with the production team, Young-soo candidly admitted, "I felt a bit pressured. Out of the seven women, she's the least my type."
Meanwhile, Young-ho and Ok-soon, as well as Young-sik and Jung-hee, successfully paired up for stable one-on-one dates. Kyung-soo, who was expected to be the center of attention, ended up on a 2:1 date with Soon-ja and Young-ja, as other contestants strategically avoided choosing him. Young-chul and Kwang-soo, however, were left without partners, becoming the stars of the 'lonely meal'.
Ultimately, Hyun-sook informed Sang-chul and Young-sook, "I received an urgent call from my parents. Something came up at home, and I need to return urgently. I'm sorry, but I have to leave." She then quickly exited the show. MC Defconn explained, "Hyun-sook has left SOLO Nation due to personal reasons."
Despite the unexpected shift to a one-on-one date, the conversation between Sang-chul and Young-sook revealed a stark difference in energy levels. Young-sook's relentless questioning prompted MC Defconn to comment, "The conversation frequency is tough," while Song Hae-na bluntly remarked, "It's draining."
