Nana Leaves a Lasting Impression in the Finale of 'Climax'
The ENA Monday-Tuesday drama 'Climax', which concluded on the 14th, depicts the desires and choices of characters within a power cartel vying for the top position in South Korea. Nana played the role of Hwang Jung-won, a shadow informant for Bang Tae-seob, portrayed by Joo Ji-hoon.
In episodes 9 and the finale, aired on the 13th and 14th, Jung-won's relationship with Sang-ah, played by Ha Ji-won, becomes a scandal. Jung-won warns Lee Yang-mi's side to stop targeting Choo Sang-ah, showing her fierce determination. In a moment of crisis, Jung-won sacrifices herself by taking a stab meant for Sang-ah, ultimately ending her life. The USB left with Bang Tae-seob contains crucial evidence pointing to Lee Yang-mi, played by Cha Joo-young, as the true culprit behind Park Jae-sang's death, serving as a pivotal turning point in the story.
Notably, Nana showcased her emotional range by portraying Jung-won, who cries and screams to protect Sang-ah, contrasting with her usual restrained demeanor. Her performance, imbued with the weight of suppressed emotions, left a lasting impression with its intensity.
Nana expressed her thoughts on the conclusion, saying, "It was a valuable experience to feel the short but profound life of Hwang Jung-won. Playing the character made me reflect on my own life and consider my future choices more deeply." She added, "Hwang Jung-won from 'Climax' will remain a meaningful character that guided me in the right direction. I am grateful to the viewers."
