Heart Signal Returns with Season 5: A Spicy Twist on the Original Dating Show
On the morning of the 14th, an online press conference for Channel A's 'Heart Signal' Season 5 (hereafter referred to as 'HS5') was held. Attendees included PDs Park Cheol-hwan and Kim Hong-gu, along with panelists Yoon Jong-shin, Lee Sang-min, Kim Eana, Roy Kim, and Tsuki.
'HS5' is a reality dating show that observes and analyzes the romantic interactions of young men and women in the Signal House, ultimately predicting the final couples.
PD Park expressed excitement about the show's return after three years, stating, "We've come back with a new generation different from Seasons 1 to 4. I'm thrilled and eager to show it to you."
Following 'Heart Signal,' numerous similar dating observation programs like 'Single's Inferno' and 'Transit Love' have emerged. PD Park highlighted the show's uniqueness, emphasizing its naturalness. "Without any special setups, the participants live in the Signal House for a month, and the naturally occurring emotions are key," he explained. "It may feel slow initially, but the depth and immersion are different. I believe that's why it has been loved for nearly a decade."
The prediction panel sees the return of Yoon Jong-shin, Lee Sang-min, and Kim Eana, with new additions Roy Kim and Tsuki. Yoon Jong-shin remarked, "It's already the fifth time. The generation has changed, so the participants now show unpredictable emotional changes, making predictions challenging."
Lee Sang-min teased, "This season, incidents occur every time the location changes. If there was one incident per episode before, now incidents happen with every move, making the immersion level the highest. The participants this season are honest and spontaneous. There are many changes." Kim Eana also noted, "The pace of development is the fastest across all seasons."
Having returned to 'Heart Signal' after getting married, Lee Sang-min shared that his perspective has changed significantly. "I can hear conversations better, and I see the hidden shapes within them. Having lived alone and then engaging in many conversations with someone, I realized my perspective has changed a lot," he said.
Tsuki also shared, "It was a new experience, and every shoot was exciting and fun. I found myself more immersed than I expected, feeling like I was watching many people's lives, getting angry and sad with them. It was also a time for self-reflection."
Tsuki showed signs of being overly immersed in the program, saying, "There were so many thrilling points. Especially the scenes of conversations in the car were exciting. It made me dream of such a romance. If I were to participate, I would actively pursue it," causing a buzz at the scene.
The panelists also predicted which couples might transition into real-life relationships this season. Kim Eana cautiously predicted, "One couple, maybe two at most. I don't foresee many couples. It's already a mess. It's tangled even at the beginning," sparking curiosity.
'Heart Signal 5' premieres on the 14th at 10 PM.
