Olympic Champion Shim Kwon-ho Sparks Curiosity with Female Fan Amid Liver Cancer Battle
Shim Kwon-ho, currently battling early-stage liver cancer, has caught attention with a mysterious interaction with a female fan.

In a preview clip of 'Joseon's Love Guru' set to air on the 13th, Shim is seen dining with the production team just three weeks after his liver cancer surgery, looking healthy. When the crew asked to see some photos, Shim shyly declined, saying, "I don't have any photos," creating an intriguing atmosphere.

It turns out there was more to the story. A female fan, who learned about Shim's liver cancer diagnosis from a previous broadcast, visited his home with a gift of red ginseng. This revelation left the show's love guru MCs astonished, exclaiming, "To his house?!"

On screen, Shim appeared bashful yet smiled softly as he searched for the female fan on his phone. The production team encouraged him, saying, "Send her a message. Tell her you're doing well..." Despite being urged, the 53-year-old bachelor shook his head, saying, "Let's stop, I don't want to." The crew persisted, "You need to be prompted, you won't do it alone," while the love guru MCs expressed their surprise and curiosity about the identity of the 'Red Ginseng Woman' who reached out to Shim.

Shim Kwon-ho is renowned for winning a gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He made history by achieving a grand slam in two weight classes, 48kg and 52kg, at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
