Lee Sang-yi Talks About Chemistry with Woo Do-hwan in 'Bloodhounds 2'
Recently, at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, Lee Sang-yi, who stars in the Netflix series 'Bloodhounds 2', sat down for an interview.
The second season of Netflix's 'Bloodhounds' follows 'Geon-woo' (played by Woo Do-hwan) and 'Woo-jin' (played by Lee Sang-yi) as they take on a global illegal boxing league dominated by money and violence. Lee Sang-yi plays 'Woo-jin', Geon-woo's eternal family and brother.
'Bloodhounds 2' quickly climbed to the 2nd spot in the global TOP 10 series (non-English) category just three days after its release. Lee Sang-yi expressed his gratitude, saying, "It's been less than a week since it opened, and it's already in the global top ranks. I'm very thankful and amazed. I don't know how long it will last, but I'm grateful and it's fascinating that it's getting attention not just in Korea but in other countries as well."
Lee Sang-yi also talked about the acting process with Woo Do-hwan. He said, "We would cry and shoot for 30-40 minutes at a time. Do-hwan has a very instinctive and animalistic style, while I tend to be a bit more rational. Do-hwan told me, 'Trust me, I'll catch you,' which allowed me to let go and act freely." He continued, "Sometimes during filming, I would mess up and fall over, and Do-hwan would say, 'Hyung, just stay still.' Seeing that, I realized, 'Do-hwan really knows me,'" he laughed.
