Former Wrestling Champion Shim Kwon-ho Recovers from Liver Cancer, Embarks on Healing Trip to Jeju Island
On the October 6th episode of TV Chosun's 'Joseon's Love', Shim Kwon-ho made a special appearance. Previously diagnosed with early-stage liver cancer, Shim returned to the show three months post-treatment. Looking healthier, he expressed, "It's been a while. I'm sorry for causing concern. I'm much better now and will continue to show a healthy side of me."
Standing at 158cm, Shim humorously noted, "I rarely meet people shorter than me. Most of my friends, like volleyball players Kim Se-jin and Shin Jin-sik, are quite tall." He hinted at an upcoming meeting with someone significantly taller.
It was revealed that Shim planned to meet with 217cm tall Choi Hong-man in Jeju. Reflecting on his past visits to the island, Shim shared, "The first time I went to Jeju was for a national sports event. We would compete and leave immediately. I never really got to enjoy the island or its famous seafood." He added, "Watching others fish makes me want to try it. I've never experienced cherry blossom or autumn foliage seasons because they coincide with wrestling competitions."
Shim's face was filled with excitement and anticipation as he embarked on this long-awaited outing after overcoming cancer. "The weather is perfect," he remarked with a smile. Dressed stylishly from head to toe, Shim proudly stated, "I was an ugly duckling turned into a swan."
