Family Drama Unveiled on 'Lee Ho-sun's Cider': A Sister-in-law's Struggle
Counselor Lee Ho-sun addresses a viewer's dilemma.

On the October 4th episode of SBS Plus's 'Lee Ho-sun's Cider,' which aired at 10 AM, the show recorded a household rating of 0.5% (Nielsen, nationwide, paid broadcast), with peak ratings in the metropolitan area also reaching 0.5%.

The episode, themed 'Troublemaker Alert!', featured a variety of stories. These included a 'resignation letter generator' who uses workplace romances as a weapon, a friend's wife threatening a 30-year friendship, a parent disrupting classroom harmony, and a brother-in-law encouraging visits to adult entertainment venues. The top story was about 'The Only Flaw in the In-laws: The Brother-in-law Couple,' where a housewife of 17 years shared her struggles.

The viewer revealed that while her in-laws, husband, and sister-in-law are all good people, her husband's brother is the family's troublemaker. His aggressive tone often hurt family members, including young nieces and nephews, creating a tense atmosphere. The brother-in-law's wife added to the conflict by leaving household chores to the viewer, despite living with the in-laws. Furthermore, the brother-in-law doubted the viewer, who was responsible for family gathering expenses.

Lee Ho-sun diagnosed the brother-in-law as the 'evaluator' of the family, noting the absence of anyone to mediate or challenge this dynamic, suggesting a long-standing family structure issue.

Lee Ho-sun then offered a solution, stating, "If you truly dislike seeing him, there's no need to keep meeting and getting hurt." She advised meeting the in-laws separately and described the situation as "a rogue dancing with a sword in a good family," emphasizing that the viewer need not be consumed by this dynamic. Lee suggested that the brother-in-law might have been a 'painful finger' for the parents for a long time, advising, "Let the dutiful son handle the filial duties, and we can do it our way."

Finally, Lee Ho-sun encouraged the viewer to "live for Ok-soon's freedom and ignore the brother-in-law's family," to which the viewer responded with a satisfying retort, "Don't blame the younger siblings, just do better yourself!"

Meanwhile, SBS Plus's 'Lee Ho-sun's Cider' airs every Saturday at 10 AM.
