Emotional Climax in 'Efficient Meeting of Singles' as Love Triumphs Over Family Strife
On the 11th episode of JTBC's 'Efficient Meeting of Singles' (directed by Lee Jae-hoon, written by Lee I-jin), aired on the night of the 4th at 10:30 PM, the storyline unfolded with Lee Yi-young (played by Han Ji-min) finding solace in the arms of her lover, Song Tae-seop (played by Park Sung-hoon), after a sharp confrontation with her mother, Park Jung-im (played by Kim Jung-young), leading to her running away from home. The episode depicted their dramatic journey of confirming each other's true feelings at the brink of life and death.
In this episode, Lee Yi-young arranged a formal introduction for Song Tae-seop, but the sudden intrusion of her estranged father, Lee Tae-sung (played by Park Yoon-hee), turned the event into chaos. When Park Jung-im, in a fit of rage, dismissed Song Tae-seop, Lee Yi-young expressed her long-held frustrations, saying, "I'm so embarrassed in front of Song Tae-seop," and urged her mother to divorce if she couldn't endure even a moment. Park Jung-im retaliated by telling her daughter to leave as well, escalating their relationship to a breaking point.
Left alone, Lee Yi-young found comfort in Song Tae-seop's thoughtful care. He guided her to his place, meticulously preparing daily necessities, offering the excitement and peace of their first cohabitation. Accompanying Song Tae-seop to his parents' wedding anniversary event, Lee Yi-young reflected deeply on the harmonious family dynamic, contrasting with her own conflict-ridden home. Sensing her turmoil, Song Tae-seop gently advised, "I know you're waiting for your mother's apology. But why not try reaching out first?" This tender suggestion encouraged Lee Yi-young to consider reconciliation.
Lee Yi-young's heartfelt confession followed at the exhibition hall. Just before closing, she confronted Song Tae-seop, overwhelmed by the chair artwork that embodied his noble gaze and concern for her. She tearfully confessed, "It's not just liking Song Tae-seop, I love him very much," and added, "Seeing that chair, I see the love directed at me." Song Tae-seop responded with a tender embrace, saying, "It's the best feeling I've ever heard."
