IU and Byeon Woo-seok Shine as '21st Century Royal Couple' in New Drama

Actors IU and Byeon Woo-seok are set to deliver an enchanting couple synergy in the upcoming drama '21st Century Royal Couple.' IU expressed her excitement about working closely with Byeon Woo-seok, whom she briefly collaborated with a decade ago.

Premiering on the 10th, MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama '21st Century Royal Couple' (written by Yoo Ji-won, directed by Park Joon-hwa and Bae Hee-young, planned by Kang Dae-sun, produced by MBC and Kakao Entertainment) features IU as Seong Hee-joo and Byeon Woo-seok as Lee An-daegun. The duo shared insights into their characters' relationship dynamics and their on-screen chemistry.

In the drama, Seong Hee-joo (played by IU) is a woman who has everything but is limited by her status as a commoner. Meanwhile, Lee An-daegun (played by Byeon Woo-seok) is a prince who, despite his royal lineage, lives a life of concealment due to his inability to possess anything. The two characters choose a contract marriage to defy their fates.

Regarding their relationship, IU described them as "each other's saviors," while Byeon Woo-seok referred to them as "inseparable," hinting at an unbreakable bond.
