Ahn Jae-wook Shares Behind-the-Scenes of His First Acting Award on 'Living Together with Hwang Shin-hye'

Ahn Jae-wook, the recipient of the '2025 KBS Drama Awards', is set to appear on 'Living Together with Hwang Shin-hye'. Previously, he faced controversy due to two DUI incidents in 2003 and 2019.

On the April 1st episode of KBS1's 'Living Together with Hwang Shin-hye', Ahn Jae-wook will reveal the behind-the-scenes of his award win. Last year, he achieved a significant milestone by winning his first acting award in 31 years for the drama 'Please Take Care of the Eagle Five!'. The episode will feature him sharing stories from the award ceremony amidst congratulations from three single moms.

Ahn expressed his surprise at winning the award, stating, "I didn't expect it at all," and humorously added that he broke his savings to treat those he was grateful to with a meal. He also shares the joy of the award with his family and candidly talks about the regret of not being able to share the moment with his late father.

Ahn Jae-wook and Hwang Shin-hye reminisce about their time acting as an older woman-younger man couple in the 2004 drama 'Match Made in Heaven'. Their roles, with a five-year age gap, were considered groundbreaking at the time. Ahn recalls being thrilled to act alongside Hwang, who was a popular figure during his school days, and how his friends envied him for the role. Hwang adds intrigue by sharing how she dreamt of Ahn before they met and even had a minor car accident with him, highlighting their unique connection.

The three single moms discuss iconic scenes from Ahn's dramas, including the memorable hairstyle from 'Star in My Heart', which was advised by the late Choi Jin-sil and took 4-5 hours to create, surprising everyone.

Ahn's role as a hotel chairman in 'Please Take Care of the Eagle Five!' earned him the acting award, and his portrayal of a romantic middle-aged man impressed the three moms. He also shares an amusing story of being invited to a state dinner at the Blue House after the drama ended, where he was humorously addressed as 'Chairman' due to his role.
