Huh Chan-mi Shares Heartfelt Family Stories on 'Dad and Me Season 3'

Huh Chan-mi, known as the 'Resilient Trot Star' for her perseverance, shares touching stories about her family on TV CHOSUN's 'Dad and Me Season 3'. She reveals anecdotes about her father, who almost became a colleague of 'Mr. Trot' winner Lim Young-woong.

Airing on April 1st, the show will feature 'Miss Trot 4' stars Jin Lee So-na, Sun Huh Chan-mi, and Mi Hong Sung-yoon, marking their first joint appearance. They will share behind-the-scenes stories from 'Miss Trot 4' and emotional tales about their parents. A special performance is also prepared exclusively for 'Dad and Me'.

Huh Chan-mi, an idol trainee turned trot singer, has participated in four survival shows, including 'Produce 101' and 'Miss Trot 4', where she achieved second place after 16 years of debut and a decade of auditions. Her parents also competed in 'Miss Trot' and 'Mr. Trot'.

Huh Chan-mi's mother secretly applied for 'Miss Trot 4' to support her daughter. She explained, "Chan-mi had already auditioned three times, and I thought joining her might help her get more attention." Her dedication moved many, including Han Hye-jin, who commented, "That's a mother's heart." Huh Chan-mi expressed gratitude and guilt for her mother's sacrifices. Remarkably, both mother and daughter received 'All Hearts', setting a record as the first mother-daughter duo to achieve this in 'Miss Trot'. Han Hye-jin noted, "Her mother almost made it to the TOP3."

Huh Chan-mi revealed, "Both my parents were singers," explaining her inherited talent. Her parents performed as the duo 'Dulbaragi' in 1986. However, her father gave up his singing career due to opposition from his father-in-law. During 'Miss Trot 4', he supported his wife and daughter by waiting outside in the cold for hours.

Huh Chan-mi also shared that her father almost became a colleague of 'Mr. Trot' winner Lim Young-woong. She said, "I wanted to fulfill my father's dream, which led me to change my genre to trot."
