KBS1's 'Morning Yard' Revamps After 35 Years: Singer Yoon Soo-hyun Takes on New Role
A press conference for the KBS1 current affairs program 'Morning Yard' was held on the morning of the 30th at the KBS headquarters in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Attendees included PD Kim Dae-hyun, announcers Um Ji-in and Park Chul-kyu, singer Yoon Soo-hyun, comedian Jung Tae-ho, and singer Na Sang-do, who introduced the new 'Morning Yard'.
'Morning Yard' first aired on May 20, 1991, and announced its revamp after 35 years. Yoon Soo-hyun expressed her thoughts on hosting the Friday segment, saying, "The applause feels different when I step on stage. People greet me saying, 'I saw you on 'Morning Yard' today,' making me feel closer to many viewers. It feels like the greatest filial duty to my parents who have consistently watched 'Morning Yard'." She added humorously, "For my generation, hearing the opening music of 'Morning Yard' meant being late," but also expressed her affection for the program, noting, "Although it has an image of being a favorite for moms and grandmothers, having appeared on it many times since my debut, I find it to be a young, vibrant, and trend-sensitive program. It seems to be more talked about than any other show."
Yoon Soo-hyun also hinted at the upcoming content of 'Quiz Show Cheonman Da-haeng'. She revealed, "We are preparing episodes like the K-pop Legends, Legendary KBS MCs, and the Four Major Religions." She encouraged participation, saying, "Families, hiking clubs, and groups in urgent need of 10 million won, please apply. Employees from other broadcasting stations who want to challenge KBS are welcome. Politicians who want to show a united front, even if they're not close, are also welcome." She also teased, "On April 17, during KBS Viewer Week, 'Romantic Couple' and 'Hansarang Hiking Club' will compete for 10 million won, so please look forward to it."
